1 out of 5 eggs2 cards...both failed

Pros: none

Cons: I bought two of these for a trip to India. Both failed. On one 10 days of pictures disappeared. On the other, it at least told me the data was corrupted and i only lost 1 day of photos. Not worth the risk if you ever want to look at the pictures you take. Don't buy it!

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: None, can't think why I would spend even a dollar extra on a CF when there's cheaper out there.

Cons: Bought card, filled with pics, stuck in digital photo frame for a while. Pulled it out to load new photos, Windows refuses to recognize the card. So what happened? Who knows and who cares. Oddly, still works in the digital frame, but who has the time to wrestle with these issues these days? And no, mama didn't raise no dummy, i tried formatting, XP, Win7: no dice.

Other Thoughts: This is just drives home that CF is a lousy archival technology. Glad I wasn't using this piece of junk to store files.

Don't waste ur hard earned money, buy the cheaper varieties. CF is a buggy technology, it's a fools paradise if you think spending more actually accomplishes something.

1 out of 5 eggsKingston 4GB Flash, Faulty

Pros: Well, the design on the front is pretty nice to look at on my desk, and soon to be trashcan.

Cons: Doesn't work ,but not because of corrupt data or anything, but instead the holes for the pins are not the correct size. A few, are way too small for the mating end of a CF connector. Tried on different CF readers, same problem, broke one reader by snapping a pin. Very ungroovy.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, not great. Gets the job done.

Pros: Cheap
30mb/s read instead of 25mb/s as stated

Cons: 10mb/s write instead of 20mb/s as stated
Slow write means long waits between continuous shooting, long exposures, high quality/raw.

Other Thoughts: Tested on a Olympus Evolt e300

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, reliable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've been running Ubuntu Server off of this card for over two years now, and haven't had any problems. The server runs 24/7 and the card just holds the OS, the system serves data off of some large hard drives.

1 out of 5 eggsCorrupted Data

Pros: Um, the graphic on the card is pretty?

Cons: I was using this card in my Canon 40D and roughly 1 out of every 50 pictures was corrupted and unreadable.

Other Thoughts: I have since switched to a SanDisk card and have had no problems whatsoever. Doesn't matter how fast or cheap a CF card is if it's corrupting my pictures. Unacceptable.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as planned

Pros: Used as a embedded boot drive on a CF-IDE adapter. No issues with performance.

Cons: I am seeing LBA errors in the logs after 1 week of use.

Other Thoughts: Running as a boot drive for FreeNAS. No issues with recognition or boot performance.
