Big but slow...

Pros: This card really is 16GB and now is at a very attractive price. It also seems reliable (6k images so far without any problems). While write speed seems very slow, read speed seems pretty good.

Cons: Write speed is VERY slow compared with my other cards also rated at 133x ( A-Data and Transcend cards). This is not the card to use if you are shooting bursts of images (particularly RAW).

Other Thoughts: This card is not ideal for situations where you may be shooting bursts of RAW images. It will do for weddings but not for sports. I love having all that space on a single card but I there have been a number of times that I have had my camera buffer full and had to wait an extra few seconds between shots. READ speed is decent. I would probably make this purchase again to have as a backup/large card as it is very nice to be able to shoot an entire wedding on a single card.

iPod Mini Success Story

Pros: Four times the original capacity of my 4GB iPod mini. It should be sturdier because there are no more moving parts. The battery should be more efficient because of no more moving parts too. Lifetime warranty on Kingston cards. More than fast enough for this application.

Cons: CF card prices are currently too high. I purchased my CF card from a competitor for 31 dinero and will not buy another one from anyone until the prices drop dramatically.

Other Thoughts: I'm not into watching videos on tiny screens so a quality mp3 player is perfect for me. More space than I'll ever need. Peace of mind knowing that I don't have to worry about an imminent hard drive failure (and the original micro hard drives WILL FAIL eventually).

Don't spend extra money for a faster CF card because the slowest CF card will be faster than the old micro hard drive anyway.

Total cost to extend the life of my iPod mini was $38 (CF card, battery and tools). If you upgrade your iPod's storage, put a fresh battery in there too!

horrible read/write speed

Pros: lots of storage

Cons: The read/write speed quoted is no where near what the card really is. Don't expect to be able to take action shots with this card.

Slower compared to others at 133x

Pros: Kingston name. They are about 5 minutes from my house.

Cons: Slow slow slow. Do not buy this if you're shooting RAW files that are 12mb or larger. It takes forever to take 1 photo. There's even a delay in the picture showing up on screen. I have Nikon D700 and D300. The Transcend 16GB is much faster and a true 133x. This Kingston feels like a 80x at best.

Other Thoughts: I would have returned this memory card if I could find the receipt.

Pros: I've had 6 of these cards over the last 2 years and only one was DOA.

3 of my cards are over 1 year old and they still work great.
