5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I needed!

Pros: I needed this for an HP xw6600 workstation and it works perfectly. Good RAM from a reliable manufacturer.

Cons: More than I wanted to have to spend.

Other Thoughts: Don't make the mistake of buying "desktop memory" for a "workstation" computer. A lot of the "workstation" computers actually take "server memory" (like the xw6600 by HP). There's not much for choices in this bracket of RAM, so this was a fair price for something that works and is reliable.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked just fine

Pros: Recognized on the first boot up. Played nice with the existing 1gb sticks. Didn't get lost in the mail like my last previous ram order.

Cons: Although it is one of the cheaper fully buffered options, it still more than I would have liked to pay for 4gb. Don't buy fully buffered if you have the option. That's not really the ram's fault though.

Other Thoughts: Works in my Dell Precision T5400.

4 out of 5 eggsHot and expensive

Pros: Works for server and workstation boards that need it. Look cool.

Cons: Very expensive even 5 years later. Very hot. Over 200'F with 8 sticks side-by-side. I added a 120mm fan to pull air off them and it dropped the temps to about 160'F which is considerable. Wouldn't need to use this if it had protruding fins on the heatsink.

Other Thoughts: They're kind of slow for RAM these days. Everest memory benchmarks with quad-channel dual rank setup (8 sticks):
Memory Read: 3068MB/s
Memory Write: 6059MB/s
Memory Copy: 4767MB/s
Memory Latency: 112ms

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory

Pros: Fast memory. Put 4 X 2GB sticks of this in a Dell Precision 490 workstation and it runs very nice. Seems to be a lot faster than the original PC2-4200 that my system came with. This memory stays a lot cooler than the original Dell memory. I'm guess it's because of the full heat spreaders.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggs1 of 8 failure

Pros: Inexpensive FB ECC DDR2. Works in Dell 2950 II / III and Dell 1950 II / III.

Cons: Of the 4 kits ordered so far, 1 kit contained a single bad dimm. (Dell front panel would show: E2111 SBE Log Disable Dimm # . . where # followed the dimm regardless of slot. Further testing with memtest did confirm a bad dimm).

Caveat - my order got stuck on a UPS truck in Memphis, TN for 3 days during the sub freezing storm. It shouldn't have effected the DIMM, but it's worth considering that only 1 of 8 failed in this condition.

5 out of 5 eggsxw8600 = YES

Pros: Works very well with HP xw8600.
Not all RAM that meets the specs will work in the finicky xw8600. But I took a chance and it paid off. This RAM works great!

Cons: None yet.

4 out of 5 eggsWorking Fine

Pros: Works in my mac pro.

Cons: Heat spreader not as big as apple recommends.

Other Thoughts: I was nervous when I put them in my mac pro as the heat spreader isn't nearly as big as the OEM memory, but it has been working well for a few months now.

4 out of 5 eggsA-OK

Pros: I now have 12GB of memory in my server and this memory is playing nicely with my pre-existing Corsair memory. Fully recognized and stable in my Dell PE 2950.

Cons: None really, it just works.
