Above Average Speed, Very good exterior design
- Pros: The best thing about this drive is its shape. it is relatively thin, not fat like other drives. The cap closes tightly so you don't have to be scared about losing it a lot. The led light is not obtrusive like other models that blind you or distract you a lot. Gives you two ways to secure this drive to your key chain where you can use either the big loop or the small loop for the string attachments.
- Cons: Older Kingston data traveler drives used to have slower writes and faster reads, now with the newer kingston drives, everything is opposite, slower reads, faster writes. but other manufacturers make faster drives for equivalent price but the Kingston has better exterior shape design. I give it only three stars, because it is not a fast drive.
- Other Thoughts: Read/Write speeds are above average. I did this test extensively for single big files and many small file and the results are as listed below:
******************************************* Single 764MB file: Read=14.7MB/Sec, Write=8.7MB/Sec Single 1434MB file: Read=14.2MB/Sec, Write=6.48MB/Sec (183MB Folder 805 files-Office10 folder from Microsoft office xp): Read=3.8MB/Sec, Write=0.8Mb/Sec
Flash memory remains pathetic when it comes to small files, This is one of the areas where Regular hard drives beat Flash memory big time.
- Pros: This is the best bang for the buck I could find:
Avg. Read 18mb/sec Avg. Write 8mb/sec
A single 1gb file takes 2mins to write. It DOES have a LIGHT on the top. The Kingston logo has a green LED under it. The cap is very secure, the drive will fit next to any USB device, and it's easy to remove with a textured grip.
- Cons: It is very small and very light. I don't think it would take heavy daily abuse.

Solid as a Rock
- Pros: Consistent Performance, solid build, good price
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: After using other DataTravelers, I chose these for a client's daily data backups (in addition to a network backup) No troubles at all! It was a half price solution and easily implemented.
- Pros: good product @ the best price !!
- Cons: not at all............ fo far
Reliable
- Pros: Reliable flash drive
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: I've previously had problems with Kingston memory cards wiping out all my photos and locking up but I gave this flash drive a try since it on sale and I needed something cheap to use for my USB-compatible head unit on my car. I've transferred music plenty of times and have had no problems using it in over a year.
