Pros: I now have 64GB of this RAM running in a Tyan S5397 mobo at 800Mhz with two X5450s (BSEL modded to 3.6Ghz with 1600Mhz FSB). No issues with this RAM. Good Stuff.

Cons: Sticks manufactured in 2008 run hot. Sticks manufactured in 2009 run much cooler (15c - 20c cooler).

Other Thoughts: Have two 120mm, 90cfm fans running right in front of the 16 sticks in my S5397 mobo (PC-P80 case). AMB temps get up to 80c at full load for 1 hour (AMB max is 110c). Newer sticks manufactured in 2009 don't get that hot. Must have better thermal glue (don't even try to upgrade the heatsinks - they're glued on).

Run RAC, Data Guard, Grid Control, ASM, etc in VMs on this setup with no issues (6 10K VRs in RAID0 - yes I backup often).

Pros: Put 48GB in a Tyan S5397. Runs at 800Mhz with no stability issues at all.

Cons: Runs hot. Must have active cooling.
