My friend used it to transfer our entire spring break photo album (10gbs) and a few videos of me be goofy haha. Takes approximately 13-14 minutes to install Windows 7 to an HDD from this flash drive: 7 minutes until first reboot/installation finish; 7 more minutes for setting up registry entries and other options. Cons: Fairly slow. I ran a couple of speed test on this drive. All tests were ran on my computer. Here is the results: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ # KINGSTON 16GB DATATRAVELER (this drive) # CrystalDiskMark - 5 passes, 500MB (Kingston 16gb Datatraveler) - Seq: 18.50 Read, 8.516 Write - 512k: 18.52 Read, 1.740 Write - 4k: 5.350 Read, 0.018 Write Roadkil Disk Speed 2.0 (Kingston 16gb Datatraveler) - Access Time: 0.83ms - Max read: 18.49MB/sec - Cached Speed: 29.40MB/sec - Overall score: 3716.6 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 3716.6 overall score in disk speed is just a bit over half of what some of my other drives achieve. Other Thoughts: This flash drive has a large capacity which makes it great for an inexpensive option for storing a lot of data. However, the speed of the drive leaves a lot to be desired. If you are looking for speed, you might want to try a different product. COUSINit 9/1/2009 11:20:22 AM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 3/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 4/5Big storage. Small package Pros: 16GB of storage that is smaller than the size most adult's thumbs. Cons: The swing plate protector is a little loose, but not the end of the world. Other Thoughts: This is the largest USB stick I've ever owned. It's not the fastest, but it is solid with it's read/write rates. I personally use a thumb drive case (available anywhere thumb drives are sold...like here), and that helps keep the drive more protected in my pocket. Remember that this is still a FAT32 format. Meaning that you can't put a 4GB DVD iso on it (or other large files). Research FAT32 filesize limits for specifics. 1 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Did you? Cons: didn't come with a keychain or strap to thread though available slot so there's no way to attach it to anything. I ended up using a twist tie because I don't have any string fine enough. Also the swing around protective chrome cover has no positive stop to hold it in place. Minor quibbles but what else can you say about a thumb drive? It's about convenience I guess. Cons: Yeah, I'm afraid it's slow. Reasonable reading speeds, but writing settles in at about 15MB/sec, which means big files take a long time. Get ready to re-format as well, since it comes in FAT format, which is a bit mind-boggling, considering the whole reason people get a flash drive this large is to put big files on it. Other Thoughts: I love the design (had a 2GB one of the same style) and am happy overall, but I'd trade it all for faster write speeds. 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Did you?
