5 out of 5 eggsgood value

Pros: This memory stick made for a modest upgrade possible given the thrty sx dllars I spent.

Cons: I wish this particular form factor, the microDIMM, didn't exist.

Other Thoughts: I successfully upgraded a Sony Viao PCG-TR1AP laptop with this stick. With the original 1/2GB, the laptop now sports almost a full GB of memory. This helped to make the preinstalled WinXP feel snappier and more usable.

This Vaio uses the microDIMM form factor for memory sticks. Given its rarity, it was frustrating to find something reasonable from a trustworthy vendor.

5 out of 5 eggsBrought an Old VAIO Back to Life

Pros: I put this in my girlfriend's Old Sony VAIO T350P that she bought for college back in Fall '05. Increasing the RAM to 1GB made a real difference, XP is so lame with 512MB. Plus I earned the gratitude of her parents for upgrading it. Although she has since moved on to a MacBook Pro 15" with hybrid graphics, the VAIO is still on active duty at her parents house, where they have it hooked up to an HDTV to watch movies.

Cons: No free shipping?

Other Thoughts: Shell out the cash and upgrade your slow junker, then give it to your little sister and buy a new ASUS G73H.

5 out of 5 eggsNetbook Memory

Pros: worked right out of the box.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Bought this ram to replace the ram in a netbook.
The netbook worked perfectly after install except no wireless. Found wireless card out of place. Tried to reseat wireless card and shorted the netbook out.
Ram is good , netbook not so good. Just my luck

4 out of 5 eggsWorks with Sony Vaio VGN-S260 - sped up boot & responsiveness

Pros: * Coupling this memory with a new hard drive cut XP boot times in half on my four year old Sony Vaio VGN-S260. Boot time went from ~3 minutes to just under 1.5 minutes.
* Easy to install (as long as you line the proper notches)
* Doubled my system memory and brought it bak to life.

Cons: * The price appears high but keep in mind that this is an older (and likely in low supply) custom memory module. In other words, the price is reasonable.

Other Thoughts: * I bought this memory and a hard drive for a combined total of about $100. The two brought my old laptop back to life. The laptop doesn't play full HD but web apps run much smoother. This was a much cheaper solution than buying a new laptop for travel, to surf the web and play fantasy football, and edit the occasional Office file. Hulu plays better now.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good price

Pros: Cheap and working fine with my 6 years old Sony TR3. I don't think I got much of a gain in terms of performance but for 32$ you cant go wrong with an extra 512M.

Cons: none.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellant Ram

Pros: Only place that had the ram cheap.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I didn't like the price at first but then i realized this is older ram and special ram so it is going to be expensive. worth it for the Sony Vaio PCG-TR3A

1 out of 5 eggskilled my sony vaio

Pros: None.

Cons: Bought this RAM module for my Sony VAIO VGN-T140P, which has a single expansion slot designed for this memory. I placed it in without problems, and when I tried to start my computer, it is dead. I brought it to a repair shop and they told me the motherboard is fried and must be replaced ($550 to do it). Before the RAM, the computer worked perfectly fine. After - it is dead. I called Kingston and they were not helpful at all. They said it was most likely my fault. Well, now I get to buy a new computer thanks to this RAM.
