Pros: This little guy is fast. I have a lot of games I play on my PC, so I installed the ones I play most often and have seen a dramatic improvement in load times.

Cons: The device doesn't come with any documentation on how to install the 2.5" to 3.5" brackets and it took me a good hour of rotating and remounting the brackets before I got them on right.

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth the money for the speed increase over HDD. Make sure to turn off auto-defragment to save the lifetime of the device. Unfortunately, this drive wasn't big enough to put my Windows 7 install on, so I'll have to just live with certain programs/games on it.

Pros: On paper, this SSD is technically unimpressive. It’s read/write speeds are comparable to a high end 10,000 rpm traditional HDD. It will “only” score a 5.9 in the Windows Performance Index. So why dish out the extra cash for this SSD? Some of the other reviewers have already pointed this out.

In the real world, this SSD is exceptional. It will breathe new life into your system, and outperform any HDD when it comes to everyday tasks.

I was able to do a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit on it in under 15 minutes. My system boots in under 30 seconds – and when I say boot, I mean to the point where firefox is open and impatiently awaiting me to use it. This is already a huge improvement. My old HDD would take 60+ seconds to show windows explorer, and then another 60+ seconds to do stabilize to the point of usability. No more. With the SSD, it’s really stunning to see how fast things load up.

Cons: There’s no documentation in the box. I spent a good half hour trying to get the 2.5” to 3.5” brackets attached, which definitely made me feel silly. Not a big deal though.

Other Thoughts: If you're thinking about going SSD, stop thinking and buy this thing. Flash memory prices are going to be going up for the next year, you won't find a better deal for a long time.

The other great thing about the Kingston 128 Gb SSD is that it costs about half as much as its competitors. It boasts slower read/write times, but this is inconsequential. The point of a SSD isn’t to transfer 50 Gb files the fastest, its to load up your programs the fastest. At this function, there’s little to be gained by shelling out for the $500 SSDs.

Also, you will need to turn off the Windows 7 auto defragger. You don’t want to defrag a SSD, as it doesn’t do anything and reduces the lifespan.

Other Thoughts: Just set one of these up with windows 7 64bit and am dissapointed with results, should have ponied up for one of the faster ssd drives. Did all the little tweaks to speed up hd but still only get a 5.9 rating on the system, and the hd is what brought it down. Speed the extra coin fo rthe faster ones

Pros: Even in my old Pentium 4 system this made a huge difference in speed. It's really fast and easy to install with the included CD. I had to monkey with the BIOS of my ancient Dell motherboard a bit to get it to boot from this drive but no problem in the end. If your motherboard has an on board SATA connection this wont be a problem. The incl uded brackets were easy to figure out and mount, even in my computer's old 4 inch bay.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Buy one, you wont regret it. Even if your system is old it will make a difference and with the long live you can always transfer it to your next build.

Pros: Smooth experience installing and using Windows XP, Windows 7 RC1 x64 and Ubuntu x64 on this drive in a multi-boot
Super-fast boot times.
Recognized as normal drive in SATA IDE mode

Cons: Write-intensive tasks like installing OS, new program, OS update, etc. seems to take a while and appear to slow down other operations. I figure this is expected with SSD.

Other Thoughts: Intent was to use this drive for OS and a mechanical HD for data. So far this scheme as been working perfectly. Boot times are super-fast.

When I installed XP, I configured the SATA drives as IDE in BIOS. AHCI was used during install of Linux and W7. I was then able to move XP over to use AHCI mode.

Pros: Installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit, no issues with install or motherboard detection. Everything loads near instantly. On my 400gb seagate, World of Warcraft took around 35 seconds to load. Now it loads in under 5 seconds.

Cons: No installation instructions. It comes with brackets to mount in a 3.5" drive bay, but it took a good bit of puzzling for me to get them on the right way.

Other Thoughts: SSD is so the way to go. If i could of waited for the prices to drop, that'd be great, but my drive was failing and I needed a new one. No regrets here, this SSD is great.

Other Thoughts: I installed windows 7 on it and several games. Played them off and on for 5 days. Went to turn it on one day and the BIOS said that the boot device was not found. Tested it on 2 other computers and nothing. I bought it at another shop... so nothing against Newegg. I have already emailed KINGSTON Tech. So now i get to see their customer service in action... will update with results.

Pros: I will never, ever buy a hard drive again. Ever. Silent. Fast. Low power. Low heat. Sturdy. Did I mention fast? This thing is worth every single penny.

Cons: Hard to mount a 2.5" drive in a case with only 3.5" and 5.25" bays, and the included conversion rails didn't help. Weird.

Other Thoughts: Using this as a primary HD for Vista (I know, I know) with a P6T and i7/920. Had zero difficulties with that config: the P6T's AMI bios saw it fine, Vista installed right onto it, and it works like a dream. You too can jettison the HD for good!

Pros: absolutely no noise, very light, and twice as fast as my old HDD. system feels very responsive, reminds me of the old catridge based video game systems. the load clicks in, and the window pops up.

Cons: price is a factor, roughly 4x the price of a hdd with 4x the capacity. but the v-series is starting to compete. (the old hdd are being dumped right now, cheap for good reason)

Other Thoughts: this is the future, and probably the best all-around upgrade i have seen since the dual cores came out.
ingame loads in crysis are a thing of the past (i thought that was the graphics cards fault). if you are thinking of upgrading any GPU at or above an 8800 with 512mb ram, DON'T. BUY 1 of these instead!!! youll thank yourself

Pros: Consistent performance in any environment! Installed without any hiccups and the mounting brackets were great.

Cons: I have to say price just because it is still expensive technology. But I don't regret a penny I spent.

Other Thoughts: Just a short story on why I decided SSD. I bought a Dell XPS One 24 a couple months back which is an All-In-One system. The temperatures on this machine are abnormally high but the Sata HDD performance would dwindle in a matter of minutes of any use. My PC would become unresponsive at the smallest things. Now this PC is fun to use.
