Manufacturer Limited Warranty period (parts): 5 years
Manufacturer Limited Warranty period (labor): 5 years
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Good capacity, good response, decent transfer rates. I use it to transfer files, store data temporarily and I have an 8 GB truecrypt volume on it which contains all my personal financial data. It has performed perfectly since I purchased it in January 2009.
Cons: A little slower than I would like but capacity and reliability makes up for it.
Other Thoughts: I have found it's always best to reformat USB drives with NTFS. I've had issues with FAT/FAT32 formatted drives but never with NTFS.

Pros: Tough as nails! I have had multiple this style kingston data travlers, 2gb, 4gb, 8gb and they all have never had a problem. Outlast super talent and intel flash drives, personally washed my 8gb 3x through the wash and still works like a champ. Very quick recognization by PC, no stupid internal software, just pure power and space.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: could use a lanyard!

Horrendous Product
Reviewed By: on 8/4/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: None
Cons: CHEAP housing destined for breakage. SLOW!!! Didn't work on Macbook Pro.
Other Thoughts: Worked 50% of the time on my PC machine.....reformatting it improved it to 75% connection rate.
On my new Macbook Pro, it never worked properly. Complete failure.
As for the speed, it's extremely SLOW. Unacceptably(!) slow.
As others on the internet has said, the housing is very weak. The housing seems engineered to fail in the short term. truly mind boggling to use such cheap, thin plastic on a portable device.
All this is extremely surprising to me as the Kingston name stood for bullet proof quality. I just don't know what is up with the product team releasing this failure. Is this the new company philosophy?
As a comparison, I bought the Patriot 32GB USB key and it's day and night difference on every level.....acceptable speed, compatability with MAC/PC, strong (albeit thick) housing, and cheaper(!) after the rebate. Nowh
