4 out of 5 eggsNot Sure

Pros: Kinda funny. They will not work in my Vantech USB port extender, nor in the front of my computer. The web site says the cards draw too much power an must be put in the back ports of the computer. Wow. They work in the back ports. Now...if I put a USB 2.0 cheap hub into the port on the front or the Vantech, then plug into the cheap hub, they work like a dream. Not sure.....as they may not work on other's computers. I know the game with mine, but not sure I would be willing to take a chance that they will work with any one else's computer without rigging it up. Middle of the fence on these.

Other Thoughts: I can use Micro SD cards in all the other readers...including Micro to 'standard' SD and no problems. Not sure if these are real. They do work, but in a round-a-bout kinda way for me.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Easy to use and always works. Great for Cell Phones and GoPro cameras.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: After having the SD Card Reader in my Macbook Pro stop responding the way it should, I purchased this device. It works so flawlessly that I purchased a second one. One for use with my Cell Phone or any other device that uses a Micro SD card, and another to be used solely with my GoPro camera.

5 out of 5 eggscheaper than a high cap thumb drive

Pros: - tiny format
- works on at least 64GB SDXCs although I did not see this mentioned. For the price I took a chance.
- cheaper to buy this and a 64GB Micro SDXC card than it is to buy a 64GB thumb drive
- more versatile than a thumb drive (can reformat the SDXC and use it in a smart phone, camera, etc. at any time)

Cons: - only USB 2.0

Other Thoughts: Am using this to make a 64GB "thumb drive" for mp3s in my car - I maxed out my 32GB thumb drive and was too lazy to cull my collection. Where the USB connector is located space is very limited so something small like this is perfect. Car only reads USB 2.0 so this is not a negative in that application. I have a USB 3.0 SD card reader for when I need to do file transfers. I just hope that I don't experience the short life that others have but then again if I do I'll just order a couple more, or maybe something better will be out by then.

5 out of 5 eggsGood things come in small packages

Pros: I actually own two of these things and use them constantly with my microSD cards. The SD card stays snugly in the reader, so you don't have to worry about it falling out on you.

Cons: You can't get one for free?

Other Thoughts: Many files have been transferred through these readers and never once have I had a problem with either of my two readers. Thanks, Kingston!

3 out of 5 eggsDisposable.

Pros: compact design fits very well in my swiss army knife swissbit. works great right up until it dies.

Cons: self destructs after just a couple months. hope it doesnt take your microsd card with it.

Other Thoughts: It is cheap. buy a few of them to stash in your desk, glove box, etc. when it dies (and you can be sure it will), just junk it and open up a fresh one.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very small and attaches to a keychain without getting in the way.

Cons: First it broke the two USB slots on the front of my Corsair case. The four little tabs inside got bent back. Though in all fairness, it could simply be that it was a cheap design on the case. There was never any damage on any other USB slot that I inserted it into.

After about 2 months of use it stopped working. It looks as if the copper plating on the contacts has simply worn away. Now I use it as a micro sd holder since none of the 5 computers I tried it in will recognize the memory card.

Other Thoughts: Very awesome design idea. I liked how compact it was. Its just a shame that it stopped working after so little use.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the issue you are having and would like to offer our assistance.

Please call our Support Staff at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and one of our Technical Support Representatives will assist you. Please be sure to have the part on hand if you call in.
