Dramatically increase the performance and extend the lifespan of your existing system with Kingston's SSDNow V+ Series solid-state drive! Targeted for high-level consumers and small and medium businesses, the second-generation Kingston SSDNow V+ Series offers higher performance than its predecessor and supports Windows 7 TRIM functionality, which helps the SSD maintain high performance through the life of the drive. Adding an SSD to a desktop already using a standard hard disk drive is a smart and efficient way to upgrade. Transferring the operating system and applications from the HDD to the SSD allows the SSD to be used as a bootable drive that takes full advantage of the Flash-based technology. The SSD and the HDD then co-exist to drive optimal performance in the upgraded desktop. For notebooks, SSDNow drives are a perfect replacement for hard drives resulting in faster, more reliable performance. Making this change will improve a notebook's efficiency in a wide range of tasks, from booting up to running the most robust operating system and demanding applications. The SSDNow V+ Series drive uses a standard SATA interface but, unlike a regular HDD, SSD is very rugged and built with no moving parts, making it ideal for power users and road warriors who push the limits of their notebooks. Other benefits include reduced power usage, less noise and less heat generation.

Kingston's SSDNow V+ Series offers performance gains and power consumption reductions at a fraction of the cost of a new system. For added peace of mind, they're backed by 24/7 tech support, a three-year warranty and legendary Kingston reliability.

  • newegg SSD Storage Technology Acting without any moving parts, the Kingston SSDNow V+ Series SNVP325-S2B/256GB solid-state drive boasts multiple advanced features including zero mechanical noise, faster data rates compared to conventional HDDs, over 1-million-hour life span, ultra-low power consumption and impressive shock, vibration and extreme temperature resistance. With these breakthrough capabilities, the SSD meets all the demanding requirements for high-performance storage.
  • newegg Windows 7 TRIM Support The Kingston SSDNow V+ Series SNVP325-S2B/256GB solid-state drive offers Windows 7 TRIM support, which uses ATA commands to increase the SSD write speeds in Windows 7. It also cuts down on the amount of data to be deleted, increasing the SSD’s lifespan and allowing it to delete garbage data in advance.
  • newegg SATA 3.0 Gb/s Interface The Kingston SSDNow V+ Series SNVP325-S2B/256GB solid-state drive features the next-generation SATA II interface supporting up to 3.0 Gb/s data transfer rates, Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and hot-pluggable point-to-point connections for optimum performance, efficiency, convenience and flexibility.

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy with new SSD

Pros: Easy to install, with clone software. Works great with windows 7. It is the fantastic for turning my non-CPU intensive apps into blazing fast response. Would recommend this over a CPU upgrade.

Cons: The installation rails were a pain in my nearly full mid-tower. I will probably end up using velcro.

5 out of 5 eggsStill amazing!!!

Pros: I thought it would be helpful so some to come back and review my review after some months of use of this drive. I can report to everyone that I have had zero problems and this bad boy is still providing the outrageous performance I wrote about in my first review. Rock solid.

Cons: Price per gig, that's it.

Other Thoughts: This purchase still amazes me every time I turn my machine on, reboot, run games or real programs. The performance difference still makes my jaw drop. Unlike other upgrades you do that after a week or so your machine is old hat & your looking for something else to crank it up, with this baby every time you use your box your going to just flip out!

5 out of 5 eggsWhat I always wanted...

Pros: 11 seconds to boot into OSX (i5 MacBook Pro).
25 seconds to boot into W7 (i5 MacBook Pro.

Minimal battery life reduction.
I can shake my MBP in front of my friends while its booting and smile.

Cons: Expensive.
The cloning software does not work with EFI.

Other Thoughts: Ridiculously fast. Love it. Actually, love does not even fully describe how I feel about this piece of hardware. I'd like to take it on vacation and pay for it's children's college educations and write a love poem in latin about it.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!

Pros: Of all the upgrades, new CPUs, video cards, OS, memory that I have done over the past 10 years, this drive gave me the most measurable difference in performance PERIOD. Installed just the OS (Win 7 ultimate 64) in 8 min! PC boots in 15 ~ 20 sec! QX9770, 8 gigs 1600 RAM, 2 ATI 5970s, 5 one terabyte WD HDDs, 2 LG BluRay DVDs, 1250 PSU, 3 24" monitors, Opitumus Max keyboard, Klipsh 5.1 speakers, Thermaltake full tower.

Cons: Price per gig. That's it. It handles RAID, ACHI. Trim commands, etc.

Other Thoughts: 8086 to 486? Nope. More like 8086 to i7 and that still doesn't equal the performance difference. Win 7 peformance on reg SATA HDD = 5.2 same everything except this drive? 7.9! Killer.

5 out of 5 eggsN/A

Pros: It works just like a dream, it is my first SSD drive I had before and I love it. Its faster boot times and it handled everthing in windows 7 x64 earning a 7.1 benchmarking score. Does the bootup for windows 7 x64 faster now in less than a minute, Plus it has trim support on it already. It works just like a dream, it is my first SSD drive I had before and I love it.

Cons: With this ssd installed for readyboost to even help the already faster speeds you need a faster usb drive such as a usb drive in 16 mb or 32mb sizes drive to still use readyboost.

Other Thoughts: its is pricey.

5 out of 5 eggsNick

Pros: Very fast, reliable and easy to install just had to add brackets on the sides I have had it for one week I never had any problems it has trim support is enabled with windows 7has a rock solid stable fealing and score a 7.1 in windows 7 x64 This drive makes it so extra data drives are obsolete so its worth the extra bucks to have one hard drive.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Could be used in conjunction with an extra data drive or you can clone it and it also comes with the software to do it.
