1 out of 5 eggsIncredibly slow

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Incredibly slow in all operating system.
My company buys these as 'disposable usb drives'... EG: We go through a lot of them.
They're all painfully slow

3 out of 5 eggsSLOW 5 MB/s write

Pros: Capacity and price.

Cons: SLOW. 5 MB/s write speeds.

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 (64 bit) will grind to a crawl when copying large files. The copy function completes in Windows but the caching continues to take a long time to finish writing data to the drive. Don't be fooled by Windows claiming 20+ MB/s transfer speeds at the beginning of a copy. You will wait eons for large files to finish copying, but, so far, they seem to complete eventually and be error-free.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Enough

Pros: Price and Free Shipping. Performs decently, not blazing fast, but it's okay. 5-year warranty from Kingston a company who's RMA's I am familiar with (ran a set of Kingston RAM into the ground once) and have found quite painless. Got here fast: Ordered like Saturday night and it got here today, Tuesday...pretty fast for Free USPS shipping.

Cons: First off: This drive says it's 29.0 GB when first plugged into the pc; plus it tells you that only 28.9 of those 29.0 GB are actually free to use. 29 GB is NOT (NOT!) 32 GB, no matter how you cut it. Might change if I reformat but, that's not the point. Feels cheap. Not very fast, even for a USB 2.0 drive this is kinda mediocre.

Other Thoughts: Ordered this drive for one very specific purpose: To use for playing movies on my Nexus 7 using a USB-OTG cable and the new Nexus Media Importer app that makes this possible without rooting. Well it's plenty good for that so far--but, I've only had it for a day. It's fast enough to play high bit-rate 720p movies and a couple of high bit-rate 1080p movies I haven't Handbrakes yet. I was planning to order 3 more if this one turned out suitable for the purpose of Nexus 7 video play back. But I'm not going to after all. These are NOT 32 GB drives so I'm gonna grab some other 32 GB drives I know are 32 GB drives from another e-tailer instead. Price was low enough where I'll just keep this one and use it but, not ordering anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsGood But Not 32GB

Pros: Relatively fast drive with an LED indicator light. Snap on cap and small size. Reasonable price.

Cons: Actual capacity is 31.20 GB with the manufacturers count of 1 billion bytes per GB. Not USB 3.

4 out of 5 eggsKey Chain attachment useless

Pros: Does a good job for storage, speed and longevity.

Cons: I bought this for the key chain attachment - it looks strong. It is not. It broke off within the first ten minutes after attaching it.

When will manufacturers learn that tech people need these things attached to their keys? Someday someone will build one that doesn't break off - this is not it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product, poor design

Pros: Decent read and write speeds and Kingston is good for their warranty (how I received this one).

Cons: Bulky (compared to previous model), light obscured, and you can't put it on a key ring/lanyard easily.

Other Thoughts: Compared to the one that failed (DTI/32GB received as a Christmas present 2010) it is slightly faster. However, they have changed the casing design and have made this product worse in terms of utility. For products that have multiple USB ports beside each other (PS3, laptops, etc.), it is now too big to have multiple products plugged in at once. I also have seen this problem with the Corsair Flash Voyagers. There was an activity light that was clearly visible, now they have that LED underneath the orange "grip" section, which is pretty much opaque. The grip itself isn't that useful and the back part of the grip has too small of an opening to put this on a key ring or lanyard. So, one step forward in performance, two steps back in utility.
