1 out of 5 eggsHOT HOT HOT

Pros: This USB flash drive is prettty handy. Looks good in white.

Cons: Extremely hot - it melted its plastic housing after a few hours of use. If I put paper next to it, it would have burned down the house.
It needs to be water cooled or maybe dry ice. Maybe should only be used in the North Pole in the winter.

Other Thoughts: Igloo owners will love it, they could heat their place up no problem.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: USB 3.0 speeds. Please consult real world speeds vs theoretical. I'm running 33mb/s - 45mb/s off PCI card to a HUB, along with my USB3.0 External HD, amazing speeds.

Cons: Slightly bulky, it is a little hotter, I put it in the con section because everyone else did, but I'm not sure hot is a con and it is only slightly larger. Plus most people know the size prior to buying, and if not, everyone should know the product before they buy online anyway.

Other Thoughts: I've not had any problems at all. Never had a fail read/write, most ports I put it in is spacious enough that other ports are not blocked. Great product, would buy from Kingston again.

I don't normally write reviews, but I felt this product received an unfair review. It deserves more recognition. I'd say a perfect buy for new USB 3.0 owners.

4 out of 5 eggsReliable

Pros: Reliable. They work consistently in all my USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports.

Cons: Like other USB 3.0 flash drives, these run hot. They're fat, but not HUGE like others claim. Nothing I can't live with.

Other Thoughts: Bought two of these and haven't had much issue with them so far. There was a compatibility issue with one mobo, but it turned out to be a BIOS problem that the mobo manufacturere fixed. Bought four PQI U338s earlier, and two have died.

3 out of 5 eggsToo Big

Pros: Works as advertised

Cons: Too big

Other Thoughts: I like to put my flash drive in my pocket and this is way too big.

5 out of 5 eggsGood drive, but unlike others

Pros: everything I've connected it to has read it. It works with the MP3 player in my car stereo, my work laptop (both USB 2 and 3), servers at work, the hub built into my monitor (USB2) and my desktop machine (USB 2 & 3).

It includes a y cable, which seems scary, and the documentation for it suggests that you'll need that Y cable for any USB 2 usage - but that's not actually the case. The Y cable is for under-powered ports, not the normal ports on computers (or, again, even my car stereo).

It's fast. The speeds reported are accurate, it's around 2.5X faster than the limit of USB 2.0. This is a huge advantage when you work with 8GB files on a regular basis (I use the command split to break the files up, haven't formatted as NTFS).

Cons: It's huge. Look into the size before you get it, it's quite large.

It runs hot: not like burn your fingers hot, but, easily 20 degrees hotter than ambient.

Other Thoughts: The other user may well have not installed USB3 drivers, they are required for the controllers on my systems.

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of Money

Pros: Looked the coolest out of the 3.0 options at the time.

Cons: It did not work with any of my 3.0 slots. And I tried it on two different computers with 3.0. I am not saying I am a pro, I may have been doing something wrong, but I looked for drivers, nothing on the card. Nothing on the web either for drivers. I would connect just fine on the 2.0 port. Very strange.

In order to use it on a 2.0 port. You have to use a "Y" cable provided so the drive has enough power to run.

Too bulky, I have two usb 3.0 ports that are stacked on my motherboard, and this card blocks both, no matter what slot I pick.

Other Thoughts: So this thing does not work in my 3.0 slots, and it requires a cable and two 2.0 slots to run like a normal flash drive. No thanks. Sent it back and got a fast 2.0, 16 gig stick for half the money. I really want a 3.0 stick, but as of now, nothing looks good enough to waste too much money on.
