5 out of 5 eggsVery Fast

Pros: I have owned this for more then 2 months and I also own a 32GB USB3.0 of another brand. I use this in place of a floppy drive using about 3-4MB a year. It should have a usefull life far exceeding the warranty period. This is much faster then the other brand on random access by about 2 to 1. The other brand is faster on large blocks.

Cons: It does run a little warm, but not outside the design specs.

Other Thoughts: If you have need of a data transporter then buy the other brand. If you plan to use it in place of a floppy or for small blocks(less then 2MB) then buy the Kingston.

4 out of 5 eggsFast on USB 2.0

Pros: Fast. Fast. Fast.

Cons: No place to stick a lanyard. Slightly bulkier than a typical flash drive. The dongle for USB 3.0 to double USB 2.0 makes it a little bulikier and means something else to carry. It does get warm as others have noted.

Other Thoughts: This thing is fast under USB 2.0 but my results seem to be slightly less than the rest of the class. 25MB/s write with Optimized for Quick Removal turned off in Disk Manager. This is still the fastest flash drive I've personally used and didn't cost an arm and a leg buying it on sale. Can't wait to try it using the full 3.0 speed.

4 out of 5 eggshigh performance

Pros: Finally a thumb drive with the speed (as a USB3 drive) to allow moving large files between machines. R/W speeds are what Kingston advertises in both a USB3 and USB2 port. I bought three and have used them in four different machines, all is well in each of them.

Cons: I paid as much for one drive as I did for my recent Intel 1155 motherboard!

They are about 1/8 inch thicker (but the same length) as my many Corsair Voyager drives, this will create a problem for closely spaced USB port connectors on most laptops.

Other Thoughts: They get "warm" with intense use (HDtune testing, formating, large transfers, etc), not "extremely hot". In the same rant the user decries the slow access time, but in KB/sec, so I don't know what either statement means. HDtune measures an access time of a fraction of a millisec, about the same as any thumb drive I've tested.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought this for installing Windows 7 onto machines more quickly than CD. I haven't used it in a USB 3.0 slot, but the performance is so much "smoother" in a USB 3.0 port. Copying data to and from the drive (even at USB 2.0 speeds) is amazing.

Cons: Cost could always be a bit lower. The current going rate for 32GB USB 2 drives are less than $45. I paid a little more than twice that just to have a USB 3.0 stick.

Other Thoughts: To the casual observer, you wouldn't realize that you are copying data to or from a USB drive. There isn't the performance hit when copying large numbers of small files that commonly accompany USB thumbdrives.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Solid construction, so far have not needed the splitter dongle at all so happy that I don't have to care it around all the time. Good speeds on both 2.0 and 3.0 USB.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Wish it had come with a lanyard and wish there was a way to have a pop top that could hang on the stick and not be separate.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product

Pros: Fast as a USB 2.0 stick @ 35 Mb/s read, 25 Mb/s write.
VERY fast as a USB 3.0 stick @ 90 Mb/s read, 68 Mb/s write.

Heavy solid construction, feels very durable.
Very inexpensive for the performance it offers.

Cons: Rather bulky, sometimes blocks other USB ports when plugged in. Stick is a little longer than most other USB sticks.

Really heats up during operation when compared relative to other USB sticks I've used.

Other Thoughts: Manufacturers usually overstate their benchmarks however in this case when used on a USB 3.0 port, the benchmarks are nearly 10 Mb/s faster than stated. Too bad that USB 3.0 isn't all that common yet, all the computers I work off of, other than my home desktop only have USB 2.0 so I'm stuck with slower speeds for now.

I like the 5 year warranty, hope I'll never have to use it though.

4 out of 5 eggsgood but...

Pros: Read/Write Speed on USB v2.0 the FASTEST I have personally seen! real world with TeraCopy was 34-36MB Read and 27-29MB Write! Do not have USB v3.0 to test with sadly!

Cons: Drive gets EXTREMELY HOT!!!, Read/Write RANDOM Access times SUCK compared to almost all the other USB/Card Flash Media drives/devices I have! In some cases as much as 10000kb/s, Had to fight to get ReadyBoost to pass it!
Comes formatted as FAT32 for compatibility!

Not really NewEgg's fault, but either UPS or the facility who shipped out this item to me, packaged and boxed it in the EARLY morning, but didnt ship in till LATE EVENING, causing my 2nd day to become 3rd day!

Other Thoughts: I am talking with Support about the extreme heat and poor random access times, hopefully they will get back to me sooner rather then later!

Check for a review with more statistics, replies from Kingston, and more in the next week or so!

Like the other guy said, wish I had gotten the 64GB, but $100 for 32GB is unreasonable, especially just for USB v3 support/compatibility! after all for cheaper USB v2 comparable speeds the Corsair model is aptly priced!

Still, Kingston 4 Life (subject to change of course!)

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Fast, I LOVE IT !!!

Pros: -Very fast in USB 2 & USB 3
In real world file write transfer using TeraCopy, I hit
61MB/s --> USB 3.0
28MB/s --> USB 2.0

In reads obviously it's even faster, using ATTO, I hit
92MB/s --> USB 3.0
35MB/s --> USB 2.0

-It gets detected immediately by Windows Vista and Linux OS
-32GB of space
-Made of tough plastic it feels solid
-I DON'T need to use the Y dongle for USB 2.0 connectivity

Cons: -Get's pretty hot

Other Thoughts: -I should have gotten the 64GB version.
-I recommend the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0, 100%
