5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Works fast, takes and writes photos at a very fast speed. Happy with it so far!

3 out of 5 eggsAdditional Review

Pros: 1 out of 2 is okay right?

Cons: Unreliable

Other Thoughts: I'm going with 2 stars on this one because 1 out of 2 isn't too bad.

These cards work when they work. 600x speed is negotiable. So far I get about 30-45mb/s in windows 7 from a direct to SATA card reader - not usb. This is also the case with my lexar express card CF reader. Same speeds.

Now for the bad stuff:
1 card has lost not only 1 critical clip during a film shoot, but also 2 other clips during wedding video shoots which is not okay. My 7D crapped out on this one card pretty bad - I upgraded the firmware to address the camera going into "busy" mode, but now instead it just drops the last clip it was writting to this card.

Also the 1 card (I have 2) transfers at 10mb/s while the other is 30-45mb/s as expected. These cards are also rated at 90mb/s which I've never seen even close to these transfer speeds. I would say they are closer to 50mb/s.

I'm a highly technical cinematographer who also writes a lot of software as a software architect so I know what I'm talking abo

2 out of 5 eggsJUNK

Pros: Cheap for the speed. If you get a good one.

Cons: I own 2 of these and 1 is total junk. Fills up to about 10GB then the last file gets corrupted everytime.

I thought this was my camera at first, but then after shooting video with the same card, I found this one is defective.

600X - Not quite sure about that... I've got these hooked up to a SATA reader to download. One card is solid at 40mb/s and the other is 10 at best (the defective one obviously)

Don't chance it, buy another brand.

3 out of 5 eggsNot a given

Pros: Price, and with Kingston name there is some quality instilled.

Cons: Not very fast. Highly doubt this could pass as a true 600x card. My Canon 5D MarkII at 3.9 FPS slams this card hard and hits the buffer quicker than the ol' 300x cards I have. Just not impressed with the speed.

Other Thoughts: Kingston should maybe stick to computer memory. I would not buy this card again and would stick to Hoodman, Sandisk, or Lexar.

5 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: so far, so good... took a bit of a gamble and bought 6 of these so that i could cycle between 2 sets of cards. i'm a wedding shooter and my cameras have 2 CF slots each; slot 1 records RAW files and slot 2 records JPEG files which i use for slideshows and same day edits. i already have a set of 16GB cards but this allows me to shoot 2 gigs and not have to worry about dumping cards in between gigs.

they're super cheap compared to sandisk or lexar.

Cons: somewhat slower than the advertised "600x" speed. seems closer to my 420x delkin cards. still plenty fast though.

Other Thoughts: these seem to be a really good value compared to other brands at similar speed and capacities.
