1 out of 5 eggsstay away from this card

Pros: None.

Cons: Bought it to use in my camcorder. Failed on the first use and can't be recognized. Got a replacement and dead again within days. I have lost 10 days of precious recordings. Stay away from this card!.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great in Canon S200 Camcorder

Pros: Works great on Canon S200 Camcorder which is what I primarily bought it for. No problems.

Cons: Could be cheaper, but I trust this brand so I paid more.

5 out of 5 eggsInitial Impressions

Pros: I tested this card as soon as it arrive, first running it off of the built in card reader in my MacBook Pro and then firing off continuos shots and 1080p video in my T2i camera. XBench gave a sequential write speed of 13.29 MB/sec using 4k blocks and 11.70 MB/sec using 256k blocks, putting this card's performance up there with Class 10 minimum specs. For reference, this is a similar write speed to what I measured with a Class 10 SanDisk Extreme card. The Kingston read speeds were 3.54 and 18.17 MB/sec for sequential 4k and 256k blocks while the SanDisk Extreme card read speeds were 4.78 and 26.88 MB/sec for sequential 4k and 256k blocks.

Burst shooting of RAW plus fine JPEG slowed after the fourth shot, similar to the SanDisk Extreme card. Burst shooting of RAW only slowed after about the fifth or sixth shot and for fine JPEG only slowed after the 28th to 29th shot.

The T2i also recorded several minutes of 1080p video at 30 fps on to this card with no problems.

Cons: None (yet). It's hard to tell if a memory card is bad up until it dies on you. Enough time hasn't passed to comment on reliability; I can only judge speed/performance, which appears to be very good for a card that is rated as a Class 6 SDHC card.

Other Thoughts: If you want a lot of storage space for your DSLR with good write speeds and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, this appears to be a good card to choose. I can get over 1,000 18 megapixel RAW photos with this or almost 4,000 18 megapixel JPEGs. Now I can take video and not worry about running out of room for photos afterwards.

As with all memory cards, there's a chance of failure. So I'll be keeping a close eye on this card over the next few weeks to make sure it's going to be good for the long haul and doesn't slow down drastically after filling and emptying the card a few times.

I should mention that for random reads and writes, instead of sequential, the SanDisk Extreme performed faster in all regards. Since reading and writing photos is sequential, this won't matter to you if you plan to buy this to use it in a camera. But as a readyboost drive or boot drive, random reads and writes are a big factor and you'd be better off with an SSD for the price.
