5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for what I needed it for

Pros: Okay speed for Laptop memory (especially DDR3)
Been 3 years and still going strong.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Upgraded 2 laptops to 8 gigs with this memory (both had the first 4 soldered on). Increased both gameplay capabilities as well as Virtualization.

5 out of 5 eggsWhy I've never purchased another brand

Pros: Quite simple here. It still works. Highest speed my board will handle. Works well while keeping cool.

Cons: Just sad I can only use 8GB max. No problems here.

Other Thoughts: I have to put this first: Check your laptop specifications first! Make sure everything matches up. Also check for maximum amount supported.

The only 'con' to this is the price. But, you really do get what you pay for here. I've used Kingston since I built my first rig in '02. Aside from one stick getting a static shock that would kill any chip I have had zero problems. I should note that the stick continued to work for a few months after. I only pulled it because when my memory would fill up it would write to a bad sector and you get the blue screen of death.

Most rigs are sold with 2GB of RAM on Windows 7 Home. That's about 1GB for Windows then add in the misc. bloatware from your manufacturer and... it's gone. Your 2GB of RAM is down to a few MB. I had 4GB in mine. Upgrade to Professional so Windows takes 2GB now. Dedicate 1GB to my video card add in bloatware and it's gone. PC takes from the video card, video performance slow and you have a mess. Don't have a mess. Upgrade your laptop with some Kingston RAM.

You may get the odd DOA stick, it happens. Don't get mad, Newegg is usually good about exchanges.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking great in my HP N54L Microserver

Pros: Although the N40L and N54L only officially support 8GB total RAM, they can accept a few 8GB DIMMs for a total of 16GB RAM. This is one of those DIMMs.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: See the N40L Wiki for more info on known-working RAM and other configurations.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Worked flawlessly once installed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Replaced Crucial memory of the same type that had some problems. Kingston seems to be one of the best manufacturers.
