HyperX SSD uses an advanced wear leveling technology that distributes writes evenly across all the flash blocks in the SSD to maximize overall drive endurance. Additionally, wear leveling ensures that the individual Flash memory blocks are consumed at a very balanced rate, not to exceed a 2-percent difference between the most often written blocks and least written. This enables the HyperX SSD to provide the longest possible life for the user while maintaining optimal performance.

  • newegg Built for Speed Kingston's HyperX SSD uses the latest generation SandForce SF-2281 controller with native support for SATA 6Gb/s, combined with Intel 25nm compute-quality MLC NAND (5k P/E Cycles). The HyperX SSD delivers outstanding read/write performance and significantly faster system response, boot times, and application load times than SATA 2 solid-state drives, with out-of-box performance of sustained 60K Random Write IOPS, read speeds of up to 555MB/s and write speeds of up to 510MB/s.
  • newegg A Superior PC Experience In addition to maximum performance, a HyperX SSD upgrade promotes cooler, quieter, and more energy efficient conditions compared to traditional mechanical hard drives. With no moving parts, SSDs provide peace of mind with their superior durability and reliability. HyperX SSDs work in perfect harmony with next generation platforms and operating systems to deliver the ultimate storage solution.
  • newegg Trim Support The HyperX SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
  • newegg 2.5" to 3.5" Adapter Included The HyperX SSD features a standard 2.5-inch form factor for compatibility with notebooks and select desktops. A 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch mounting bracket is included with the SSD for compatibility with standard hard drive mounting.

1 out of 5 eggsjunk disk

Pros: fast when working

Cons: Too many Crashes, for the price of this new technology. Random times get unexpected system crashes, then system reboots after blue screen, BIOS prompt "no physical disk" error. Need to hold shutdown for seconds, then turn on the computer again and windows 7 start normally.

1 out of 5 eggsdead after 9 months

Pros: Good/Stable/Fast after firmware update.

Cons: Lasted 9 months in my HTPC setup. Not acceptable. BIOS no longer recognizes the drive (3 different computers). (computer was running about 10h/day - still I would call it a very light use - (different drive was used as a DVR))

Other Thoughts: Go with Intel people. Yes Kingston is less expensive, but not worth the frustration. We will see how the RMA is going to go.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Brought my boot time from 47 seconds to 29 seconds. Holds all my important applications with room to spare. Easy set up and has everything up and running within an hour of arrival.
In Blacklight: Retribution, I benchmarked my new and old drive
Score went for 3,000 to over 14,000

Cons: 111.8 gb of 120 are usable
Though I don't mind, others might

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this drive to anyone wanting an SSD

5 out of 5 eggsHyper X RAID 0

Pros: 9.9 WEI (That's the best score possible with Windows 8.)

Speeds work as advertised. I get over 1GB/sec read and write speeds using ATTO.

The drive looks fantastic in the pictures and even better in person.

Literally generates no heat at all. These drives would work great in a laptop. I put my hand on them after working on the computer for a while and they actually felt cold.

Setup and installation was easy.

Cons: The adapter didn't work with my case but that is ok because it supports SSDs by default. If you have the same problem remember that since there are no moving parts you can just tape it down somewhere.

Other Thoughts: The RAID array should last for a while but I am nervous because if one drive fails then all of my data is lost. I should be fine though (fingers crossed.) I will update if I have any problems but there has been none so far.

For most users that want 240GB of flash RAID isn't really necessary. I hate to admit it but the performance gains are more noticeable in the benchmarks and not day to day use. But if you do go with these SSDs in RAID 0 remember to say goodbye to those pesky loading screens :) because you will never see them again

1 out of 5 eggsFast when it worked

Pros: The drive was speedy fast the first week of service.

Cons: After the first week the drive was still detectable on the machine but did not work and kept on freezing up the computer since at the time the OS was installed on this Kingston. Anything I put on the drive, everything would just completely freeze.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought this back in late November for a new build. Unfortunately due work and school I could not finish the new build until now which is passed the 30 day Newegg replacement warranty. I am very disappointed to find out now that I have a bad drive and there is possibly no chance that I can get a replacement.
I had high hopes for my new build especially since this drive would of made the main difference in everything. Very disappointing I must sadly say.

5 out of 5 eggsHyperspeed Computer

Pros: Installing a SSD is the #1 way to speed up your computer. Having my OS and programs installed on this drive means that I boot in under 30 seconds, and I've forgotten what a "load screen" is. This drive is rock solid and reliable. It's nice that it comes with the 2.5"-3.5" adapter for easy mounting in a drive bay.

Cons: The blue is a little flashy inside my otherwise drab case with no window (which I would wholeheartedly recommend - the Lian Li PC-9F)

Other Thoughts: If you're a gamer that hates uninstalling games, then you may want to look at the 240 GB model. 120 GB fills up fast when game installs are pushing 20 GB each.

This drive has a much higher write speed than the OCZ models, so be careful in your selection.

Remember to buy a SATA 3 (6.0 GB/s) cable if you're picking this up!
