5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

Pros: This was my first SSD and it is way faster than a mechanical HDD. My boot time went from 60 seconds to under 30 seconds with the SSD. The price was pretty good back then too.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good deal on rebate

Pros: Much better than magnetic. Great value with a rebate. They claim their firmware basically makes TRIM support unnecessary.

Cons: Not the speediest kids on the block, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Was a great deal on rebate and shocker ($1/gb), of course I was too late on mailing and lost $60 across the 2 I bought. When you first put it in they might not seem amazing, but use them for a month and then go use a pc with a magnetic drive and see how much you miss the ssd. I now have my 2 in raid0 and working great. Kind of wish I had gotten drives with sata3 support that have much higher caps, but you do gotta pay to play.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice upgrade

Pros: No hassles after 3 months of use. Got the rebate with no problems. PC is primarily for gaming BC2 & BF3- as you can see below not the newest and fastest but gets the job done fine. I had 2 samsung F3 drives in set up in RAID0 for about a year and a half and started getting Master boot record errors, periodically. This drive was on sale with a rebate so I thought I'd give an SSD a shot.

Cons: None. Might say that it didn't come with 2.5" adapter, sata cable, smallish size (that's what she said) but I knew all this before going in...

Other Thoughts: AMD 955
Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
Corsair H50
Kingston HyperX Grey Series 8GB 1600
XFX 4890

4 out of 5 eggsAll right but,

Pros: Good price to space ratio (89.4Gb when formatted), speed is all right, gets a 7.1 in WEI

Cons: A few blue screen and random shut down from time to time

1 out of 5 eggsLasted 31days do not buy

Pros: None

Cons: Nothing but trouble. Many hours wasted trying to get this SSD to work. Finally no longer recognized by my system.

Other Thoughts: Wish I did not buy from Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Very fast, have not noted any slow-down; this drive is said to have very aggressive garbage collection, so made good sense to use on older Macbook running Snow Leopard (no OS TRIM).

Cons: None so far, just worked right out of the package and I am very pleased with it.

Other Thoughts: Made my use of VMWare Fusion so much better! The drive speed in the VMWare virtual machines is so much faster, very nice; also this older Macbook only has 2 GB of RAM, but this SSD makes the virtual memory very much faster, so it is like having larger RAM too.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good SSD

Pros: This is a pretty good SSD. It has fast read and write speeds. It is a very big improvement over a 7200 RPM mechanical HDD. I got it when the price was 89.99 which was pretty good. It came out to be about 93 cents per Gigabyte.

Cons: Not SATA 6 GB

5 out of 5 eggsGood price, great capacity, good performance

Pros: Great price per GB. Near synchronous read/write speeds -- many drives have very slow write speeds with high read speeds. Excellent garbage collection for those not using Windows 7/Linux or those who want to use SSDs in a RAID.

Cons: The read and write speeds are good, but they are not top of the line. No 6 gb SATA support.

Other Thoughts: I use two of these in a RAID 0 configuration giving about 450 mb/sec read and 350 mb/sec write. This brings the speed of these drives to almost that of high end models (which are around 500 mb/sec). You get 192 GB for a bit less than a single 120 GB high end model. This gives more than enough space for all your applications and plenty of speed at a very good price.

3 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work with NVIDIA motherboards

Pros: Reasonably fast, cheap after rebate, support TRIM and has good "garbage collection" for operating systems that do not support TRIM. Works fine with either Intel or newer AMD chipset motherboards. Kingston RMA is great.

Cons: Doesn't work with NVIDIA chipset motherboards. Thought the drive was defective and RMA'ed it to Kingston, and the new one behaves exactly the same.

Other Thoughts: Bought Kingston V+ 100 SSD because of supposedly good garbage collection for the older Dell Optiplex 740 machine with AMD CPU and NVIDIA chipset. The drive shows up in BIOS with the capacity of 8MB and OS does not see it during install (yes I did try to load the drivers). Both Kingston V-series and OCZ Agility SSD work fine on the same machine. I had to move the Kingston V+ 100 to a newer PC to be able to use it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery pleased.

Pros: Extremely happy with this purchase, I would definitely recommend this SSD.

I don't even have SATA 2, and this drive runs incredibly fast.

The price is good for the amount of storage, SSD's are expensive but this is worth it.

Kingston customer support is very knowledgeable and helpful (like all customer support should be.)

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I feel dumb for this happening to me, but it took me hours to figure out why I couldn't install Windows 7 on my SSD. After about 4 hours of research, I finally decided to test what I should have done in the first place....had I just removed all my other HD's except the SSD I would have been done in minutes.

So for those of you who are about as smart as me, make sure you have you other HD's unplugged before you try to install your OS on this.

P.S. The problem I had was the the BIOS could see the SSD just fine, but I couldn't find it in Windows 7 nor the Windows 7 program setup.
