5 out of 5 eggsCheap, but good.

Pros: Price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Bought this to add four more gigs to my system to bring myself to 8gigs. System read this without a problem. I mean it's ram.. Just put it in and boot system up.

Ong thing that threw me off is the fact that it is lower profile than my other 2GB sticks of the same type of ram, but no biggie; still works.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I did proper research and found memory compatible with my motherboard.

The computer instantly recognized the memory addition.

Cons: Initially, the memory sticks looked too small to fit.

5 out of 5 eggsGood product, no ongoing issues

Pros: Kingston Value RAM has been a reliable and solid choice for many years. It's not the fastest, doesn't have fins, flashing blue lights or a rotating disco ball, but always comes through, gets the job done and haven't encountered a bad stick yet.

Cons: For some people it's very difficult to get the RAM out of the package without the RAM flipping or flying out. A more finger-friendly version of packaging would be great, considering it's not fun having to replace parts because they were damaged from removing from the package.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Bought this to go with the 2x 2GB ddr3 1333mhz KVR ram already installed. These sticks have definitely been revised by Kingston as they are different from my previous bu all work together just fine after popping them in. Super super low profile.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: Great all around ram, and fits under cpu coolers.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality without frills

Pros: Affordable
Runs at good timings with a mild overclock
Reliable
Low-profile (1/2 height) if things are tight around the memory socket.

Cons: None unless you want heat spreaders.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for an inexpensive upgrade and bundled these with an AMD Athlon II 465 X4 for $100 total. Picked these to match 4GB of Kingston KVR that I already had in my rig and had no complaints about.

On first boot it only read 1 of the 2 new sticks, but after swapping the position of the 2 old and 2 new on the motherboard it fired right up and never looked back. Something must have just been misseated. I just run a small FSB overclock and after a day of gaming they, along with their 2 yr old counterparts, have been completely stable at 1440 mhz with 8-8-8-22-30 timings and T1 command rate. That also makes 3.35 ghz on the processor and new vigor to my older AM3 rig.

1 out of 5 eggsDid not work

Pros: None

Cons: This memory should have worked in the system, and the ones produced earlier (i.e., 2 years ago) work fine. It turns out that the manufacturer changed the specs to use memory chips that require an extra address line. This was not clear until I looked at the datasheet.

Other Thoughts: Check the datasheet as an added precaution.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the issue you experienced. It sounds like you ran into a compatibility issue between this part and your system. While it is likely to work as it did in the past for you, Kingston does not recommend ValueRAM for branded systems such as Dell or HP. You may use our memory configurator to determine the recommended memory parts for your system at the following link: http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/options/

If you still have the part, please call our Support Staff at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M -F 6am - 6pm PT and one of our Technical Support Representatives will assist you. Please be sure to have the part on hand if you call in.

5 out of 5 eggsSmaller than pictured

Pros: This stuff ended up coming in as super low profile memory. It's about half the height of a normal dimm.

Cons: Smaller than pictured so if you bought aftermarket heat spreaders they wouldn't fit.
