1 out of 5 eggsMemroy won't work in ASUS Maximus Extreme

Pros: Lifetime warranty

Cons: ASUS Maximus Extreme will not boot with this RAM even though it's the correct type 240-pin DDR3 1066Mhz PC3-8500 timings 7-7-7. Kingston doesn't have any memory that will work in this system anymore according to their technical support.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Sorry for the issue you have experienced. Please be aware that we never supported this board with the part that you purchased. We stopped supporting this board in 2011 because of lack of components so unfortunately I do not have a currently shipping part I can recommend to you.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

5 out of 5 eggsInvisible, Like RAM should be

Pros: What I wanted: 4 (2x2) GB of RAM (Win XP 32 bit, with only 2 slots in MB). 1033. Cheap. This package perfectly fit all criteria.

Cons: None at this point.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value, rock solid.

Pros: Rock solid in my MSI G41M-E43 motherboard with a Core 2 Quad Q8400 CPU.

Cons: None. It's been perfect from day one.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought a Patriot G Series ‘Sector 5’ Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model PGV34G1333ELK for $20. Even running at 1066 it would blue screen before I could even get Windows installed - this happened several times. Even after I finally got Windows installed, the machine never lasted more than about 45 minutes before I'd get the BSOD. I hoped it was just the RAM and not the brand new motherboard or my existing Quad CPU. Fortunately, once I replaced the Patroit RAM with this Kingston set for only $25, the machine has been perfect. I'm going on the third month now and this machine has never had a single problem, no crashes, no BSOD, nothing - and this machine is on 24/7/365. It's running at 7-7-7-21 perfectly. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works as expected, won't ask more.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Oddly low profile, not a bad thing. Physically shorter than the ramslot clips to hold it in.

5 out of 5 eggsGood brand, good ram

Pros: Bought this for the simple build I made for my father. Was surprised that it wasn't tall, but it works as it should. Have used Kingston in the past and never had any issues.

Cons: Won't make brownies for me.
