Kingston SSDNow mS100 SMS100S2/64G mSATA 64GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: great msata drive for whatever reason you need one. for some it's for use in a laptop or tablet, for others it's with a mini-itx mobo in an htpc case.

here are the specs using ahci after nine months of usage

/dev/sdb:
Timing cached reads: 26654 MB in 2.00 seconds = 13341.67 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 768 MB in 3.01 seconds = 255.53 MB/sec

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: this is the boot, etc. drive for a sff linux workstation. home directory is on a 2.5 sata-iii. it is in an msata socket on the back side of a zotac mini-itx mobo.

Other Thoughts: Installed in my laptop along side the Hard Drive, Boot times from cold boot is around 17 seconds. wake time is near instant. The price is really the only issue, it is still pricey in comparison to its 2.5" drive cousins, but being able to use it alongside a standard HDD makes this device a no-brainer.

Pros: Cheaper than competitors and fast enough for vmware guests. I don't know about reliability yet since I used only one day. HDTune values (in Thinkpad W520 i7 16GB RAM) are 159.2MB/s average read, 146.5MB/s write (sequential).

Cons: It does not come with the screw that you need to secure it in its slot in Thinkpad W520. I don't know if this is Lenovo's fault as Thinkpad's quality reduced a lot since IBM days.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this mSata drive for non-enterprise needs. For enterprise reliability concerns you should get SLC rather than MLC based SSDs.

Cons: Bad Sectors

Other Thoughts: I started noticing the bootmgr errors before my return policy ran out at Newegg. Should've returned it when I had the chance. It's completely unusable after less than 2 months. A little disappointed. I liked the idea of having a larger and faster drive, but this one was no good

Pros: Good O/S drive for my Y570 Lenovo notebook. Good value for a 64GB SSD (especially compared to other competing msata drives). Easy to connect. Amazingly small if you haven't seen an msata drive, probably not much thicker than five business cards and slightly larger than a business card in length and width.

Cons: Small size for a O/S drive. Difficulty forcing the Y570 to use the msata as the primary drive (see other thoughts below). Performance seems about 75% of a true 2.5 inch SATA SSD (based upon my subjective view -- no hard numbers).

Other Thoughts: In order to use the msata as the O/S, I had to back it up and then pull the existing 2.5 inch drive out in order to install the O/S on the msata drive. This took some research online as well as trial and error.

Pros: Very nice replacement drive for my MSI Windpad. The 32 GB that came with it was nice but just not quite enough space.

Cons: None

Pros: Fast when it works.

Cons: Drive died after one week of use in a Lenovo w520.
BIOS detects an error with the drive.
W520 BIOS version 1.36

Other Thoughts: Do not buy if you value your data. I lost 3 days of work.
I cannot send the drive back because of the type of work I do. I can't risk shipping the drive back to Kingston and the data on the drive being recovered.
So I'm out 3 days of work and the price of the drive.

Do not buy if you value your time and money, you have been warned.

Cons: none

Pros: 64GB in an mSATA format, about the highest you can get without overspending. SATA-II interface, writes are running about 170MB/sec and reads are 250MB/sec, almost maxing out the channel.

Cons: Other than being 64GB, none noted.

Other Thoughts: Unlike some, I am using this in a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 motherboard as the primary OS drive. Programs are loaded on the D: drive (WD Velociraptor 600GB SATA-III) and together the performance is excellent. I could have run the Intel RST program for it, but instead went with using it as a primary drive. OS takes up just under 28GB, with the pagefile moved to the Velociraptor and hibernation turned off. Together, it's a very responsive and snappy system now.

Pros: this is a great way to get a performance boost . speed as advertised. intel rapid storage just does the work. and i think it could help with the life span of my two mechanical 500gb drives

Other Thoughts: great snappy boost the 32 is too slow and small but you can notice a bit of snap on it too . but not like this one.
