5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Using this on a FreeBSD box with the E3 Xeon v2 CPU, with heavy usage by a ZFS array. It works, that's about it. Good stuff.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in Gen8 MicroServer

Pros: Excellent and Trouble Free RAM.

I've used this without any problems in my N40L's and N54L MicroServer's and never ever had a problem. I read that it was compatible with the Gen8 MicroServer so I tried it and have been very happy with it. Rock solid!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm in HP N54L Microserver

Pros: Worked perfectly right off the bat. N54L posted showing 16gb ram. No issues after rebooting several times over the past few months.

Cons: Expensive relative to what I placed these sticks in. N54L was had for around $220 not too long ago so this ram could be put to use in a more powerful machine. ECC ram is always expensive.

5 out of 5 eggsExpensive Memory, Worth It

Pros: - Work perfectly in a HP Proliant N54L Microserver
- Easy Install
- 100% Reliable

Cons: - 40% more expensive than other memory modules of the same capacity.

Other Thoughts: I tried 4 other sets of memory modules in a HP Proliant N54L Microserver trying to get a set that would even let the Bios work at all. I tried Samsung server memory, Komputerware, Crucial, and Corsair. None of them would even allow the BIOS to load at all when 16GB were installed. None would work when only one 8GB stick was installed. I tried memory modules that were recommended by the Wiki and had worked for HP Proliant N36 and N40 servers. I even tried modules that other reviewers at another on-line retailer (related to a river in South America) had stated worked in their N54L server. I was afraid I would be stuck with the 2GB memory stick that came with the N54L server.

After researching and reading on the HomeServerShow.com forum that this Kingston KVR1333D3E9SK2/116G server memory module was extensively tested and worked in the HP Proliant N54L server, I bought it, installed it, and tried it out. This memory does work. The BIOS and Windows 7 - 64bit Pro OS recognizes 16GB of memory every reboot. It has been 100% reliable in 4 months of 24/7 operation.

After trying 4 times with less expensive memory and failing each time, I recommend to anyone having a N54L microserver to just purchase this memory and be done with it.
