4 out of 5 eggsUniquely Secure Flash Drive

Pros: Small and compact

Attractive and glossy look

Fast USB 3.0 class speeds.

Write Protect Switch (for extra security)

Cons: No place on unit to store cap when removed.

Write protect switch is harder to set than it should be.

Case not actually metal but "metallic" (plastic).

Other Thoughts: At the time I purchased this flash drive, it was one of the few USB 3.0 models that also has a write-protect switch. The write-protect switch (which makes the flash drive read-only until set back) prevents the unit from getting infected from a virus or malware. This is an essential feature for anyone who finds it necessary to travel around and transfer data (like a presentation) to various remote or unfamiliar computer systems while being sure nothing can infect the drive and be brought back "home". I would have given the unit 5 eggs if it felt less flimsy and had an easier to access write-protect switch.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Not thick to block a second USB port, very fast with USB 3.0. I am very happy with the large capacity and speed.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Looked at all options. This USB stick did not have all the marketing behind it compared to others, but the specs speak for themselves.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Super fast on USB 2.0
End cap is not a problem as some other reviews indicate

Cons: shiny casing is flimsy and I don't hold much hope for it
no lanyard

Other Thoughts: I just ran a speed test on USB 2.0 and this drive is 2x as fast as my previous Rally 2 with tested thruput of 14.8 MB/sec. Can't wait to try USB 3.0!

Some reviewers mentioned the end cap, I find it to be snug-fitting so I'm not that concerned. Wish they had included a lanyard but my biggest concern is the flimsy "metal-looking" casing ... it feels like it could fall off anytime, wish they would use real aluminum and a single piece rather than fitting two sides together. Of course you can tell that from the product photos but it feels worse than it looks. Even if the casing did fall off the drive would probably work ... looks like the clear plastic goes underneath the shiny casing so this is purely cosmetic, it's just a shame to have to think about.

I'll keep using this stick and if it doesn't fall apart then I'll get the 128 GB nano.

5 out of 5 eggsSleek and speedy!

Pros: Super light, excellent speed. In my tests with HFS+ and the disk journal disabled, I got 60MB/sec write, and 170MB/sec read using USB 3.0 on the latest OSX.

Cons: This uses the old style USB cap. I'm very good at removing the cap and subsequently losing it.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended. Fast, small and light. Exactly what you want in a portable storage device.
