3 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

Pros: Games ran a hell of a lot faster with this while it worked.

Cons: After a few months of owning this, one of the gigs died on me. So I'm left with only 1 for now.

4 out of 5 eggsGood ram, bad rebate

Pros: I bought this kit to go with a DFI Lanparty DK X48 mobo and an Intel E8400. The board saw the ram no problem, and when I OC'd the CPU to 3.6 w/o extra volts, the ram scaled auto w/no prob. It also matches the orange/copper on the DK mobo perfectly - excellent!

Cons: When I bought it, it had a rebate that dropped 1/3 of the price, and I tripled-checked all the instructions for the rebate. Two months later, I noticed I had no word from Worldwide Rebates (WWR), and when I contacted them with my tracking number, they said they never received the documentation. Liars! I'm sure they just pocket it while reporting to Geil it's been sent to the customer. So don't expect a rebate if one is offered again.

Other Thoughts: Overall, great ram for the price even without a rebate, so I would give 5 eggs for that. But one egg comes off for Geil selecting Worldwide Ripoffs as their rebate associate. I suggest to all companies to process rebates in-house; letting a contractor cheat a customer just makes your company look bad.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet, great looking stuff

Pros: At first I had mixed reactions about getting that orange looking memory. The only reason I got it was because of the reviews I read about it on "Tomshardware.com" This memory has tremendous overclocking ability...even though I use the stock timings which still allows me to play games at full resolutions and AA and other "eye candy" features. When I opened the package the memory is actually pretty awesome looking. The picture makes it look more like a bright orange when in truth it actually looks like a brownish copper looking orange. This stuff is sweet and looks great on my mobo and in my Antec 900.

Cons: Too bad I'm on a budget and Vista is still bad so im still stuck with 32-bit xp pro or else I would have bought another 2 gigs.

Other Thoughts: *Gaming Rig* - Antec 900, XFX 680i LT SLI, Q6600, Arctic Cooling Freezer 7, GeIL 2GB DDR2 800 Dual Channel, EVGA 8800GT Superclocked Edition, Antec Neo HE 550W, Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200RPM, *Peripherals* - Phillips 107T6 CRT, Microsoft Wireless Keyboard, iCEMAT 2nd Edition Mouse Pad, Razer DeathAdder optical mouse, eDimensional AudioFX 5+1 Gaming Headphones

5 out of 5 eggsDID MY RESEARCH AND IM HAPPY!!!

Pros: I will be honest and tell you I had no experience with Geil in the past... Never heard good bad or otherwise! I had seen their adds in mags and figured them to be all hype! Well, O did a ton of research on DDR2 800 MHz RAM and found many who claim this is best for OC. Im an old PC Tech dating back to 386 days and am no stranger to tweaking my CPUs.

With the new generation of multi core CPUs, MBs, and RAM I wanted optimum combination of HW for OCing. I knew CPU would have to be Intel and MB Asus! But was still unsure after placing memory order. The $12 rebate helped to ease my mind!

This memory is awesome! I have yet to tweak voltages, but at stock voltage this stuff is stable to 27% above stock! I cant wait to test further!

Cons: Wish I had ordered TWICE as much at this price! Oh, wait I did order a second set of 1 GB Monday! Still waiting on delivery tomorrow! HA!

Other Thoughts: This is great stuff at a great price! A NO BRAINER!!!

5 out of 5 eggsBuy this RAM!

Pros: It POSTed on first try. This RAM is fast and very cheap. This orange heatsink are cool, too. I've never had a problem with GeIL memory.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: If you plan on overclocking this RAM, make sure your motherboard memory voltage can be ajusted above 1.9 volts.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The 15 minute intervals at which I could actually use my PC, it was blazing fast...

Cons: After about 15 minutes of using the PC, it would lock up, become completely unresponsive and stop transferring the video signal to the display. This was only after installing these additional modules. I popped in my Ultimate Boot CD and decided to perform a memory scan. 10% into the scan, I was already up to 25,600 memory errors.

Other Thoughts: I only purchased this RAM because they discontinued the 2 x 1 GB Estoria RAM, which I already had in my PC. I could tell from research and other reviews that this RAM is not of the same quality.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,sorry to hear about your problem. One thing must understand is that any motherboard doesn't like all 4 slots occupied because it adds a lot of stress on the memory controller. You'll have to raise the Chipset/DRAM Voltage and sometimes even the CPU vCore Voltage as well as SouthBridge Voltage in order to achieve stability with four modules. If you don't know how to perform the custom-tuning,we offer free techsupport to our customers and we're always glad to help the customers. Please see the attached link to our Support Forums where you'll receive speed response. Thank you.

Blessings,
GeIL Support

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME MEMORY

Pros: Very stable memory at factory settings and stable at decent overclocks. You should be able to obtain 1100mhz with 4-5-4-13 timing easily with your volt at 2.3

Cons: I should have bought 4 gigs

Other Thoughts: This memory stays very cool, no need for additional cooling. I have read reviews on ppl hitting upwards of 1250mhz on this memory. The batch i recieved have D9's.
