3 out of 5 eggsDecent memory

Pros: Fast memory that is cheap

Cons: one module died about a year into ownership

Other Thoughts: Decent ram, but cheap. Probably why one of the modules died. No issues with the other module. Nothing crazy on the set up, no overclock, just standard amd 4 ghz 8 core proc with the two 8 gb modules.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: This RAM flies! And it just plain works. I have never had a problem with it in the 2 years that I've had it. It works in any motherboard I have put it in and I have never had a blue screen or any RAM errors.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: A lot pricier than when I bought it but I would still buy this today at this price if I was building a computer.

1 out of 5 eggsNot 14900 memory. Really 12800

Pros: Works A-1 when set to work as 12800 memory sticks on a MSI 970A-G43 mobo.

Cons: Don't work as advertised.

Other Thoughts: I paid less for these wrongly badged memory than for rightly badged 12800 memory, so in the end, i don't really care. Just be careful if you really want 14900 memory.

5 out of 5 eggsGeil Ram

Pros: Timings work as advertised. No problems.

Cons: Color, would rather them be blue or black but for the price can't complain. Great cheap ram, but the price jumped after my purchase - ram is just to expensive.

Other Thoughts: Had to setup up timings manually on a Asus M5A99FX-Pro motherboard. Heatsinks are tall and may interfere with a large CPU cooler. Not sure what the other reviews were complaining about the heatsinks being loose didn't see this.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Have had no problems. The ram runs at 1866 just fine.

Cons: The heatsink or metal casing or whatever that is, is flimsy. Its not going to break but it just feels cheap when held.

4 out of 5 eggsHolding up fine.

Pros: Running fine, 16 Gb is more than I've had before, cheap, low latency.

Cons: Unfortunately currently running as single-channel memory for some reason. It'll take some tweaking. Heatsinks are a bit flimsy.

1 out of 5 eggsBSOD central

Pros: Nice color. Absurdly tall heatsinks will impress your mom.

Cons: BSOD = Instant ocean of red in Memtest86+. This was running at 800 MHz and 11-11-11-28 and no overclocking of any kind. I can remember when Geil used to make good memory. Back to Gskill or Crucial or ???

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear that your RAM kit failed on you. Please understand that memory IC's are very fragile, many factors at play that can cause them to fail, and that's why GeIL offers a life-warranty to backup your investment should the unfortunate occurs.
Please send us an email directly and let us help you to put a brand new working kit back in your hands. Thank you for choosing GeIL.

- No issues at all. Plugged it in and it worked.
