Runs at 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1V with no errors in memtest 86+ on my Intel 975 XBX2. Should be fine for your average user.

Corsair's XMS (Xtreme Memory Speed) memory has long been popular among enthusiasts. Corsair has many such kits, and each is regarded as some of the best available in its category. With 2GB (2 x 1 GB) of memory in dual channel configuration running at 800MHZ speed, this CORSAIR XMS 2GB DDR2 SDRAM System Memory, offers targeted low latencies of 5-5-5-18 at JEDEC standard speeds, overclockable to 4-4-4-12, and it's been certified as “SLI Ready”, giving you some screaming data transfer rates and exquisite renderings.

These modules are made by Corsair using carefully inspected and matched RAMs. Running in dual channel mode, the module provides 12.8GB/s worth of memory bandwidth which happens to be exactly what the dual core Socket AM2 Athlon64 X2/FX processors need. What a coincidence.

This is memory that’ll both overclock and stay cool, thanks to their huge black heatspreaders. This is a great kit for anyone wanting to max out their system’s performance!

4 out of 5 eggs50%

Pros: Ram works fine, only noticed a difference when you dont have it.

Cons: Ended up purchasing 2 packages of this ram at seperate times, out of two packs of 2x 1gig sticks I ended up with 2 gigs total. seems some of the crafting ability done by manufacturer is terrible, chips in 2 of the sticks were literally stuck to the heatsinks and not the board.

Other Thoughts: Be nice if Newegg allowed you to return just defective sticks and not the whole package, so I ate the loss.

5 out of 5 eggsThink before switch

Pros: Corsair XMS line are one of the two most solid performance brand out there. High performance, speed, and latency makes it superb.

Cons: none at the moment

Other Thoughts: I have build many pcs w/ the XMS line for the past 6 years and had no complaints with this RAM. I was about to suggest this line and the XMS 3 line for customers. After I read a few of the reviews about Corsair swapping chips, I am disappointed and might go with Kingston HyperXs. I can say this though, think about the reputation of this good quality line has built before swapping chips. If not good, then people won't buy. Plain and simple.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid ram

Pros: Used this on a Gigabyte p965 ds3 board. No errors on memtest 86 when I first installed it and has always run fine with no problems.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought this ram about 2.5 years ago and had it in rig which was running for the majority of that time period with no failures. The only reason I am not still using it now is because I finally built myself a new rig as that one was getting old (still had an old p4 ht in there) and I will be using DDR3 on the new system.

Hopefully that system will continue to run without issue for quite some time as I will be selling it to my brother.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Ram

Pros: Very good stable ram. I have used this ram in several different boards and it hasn't done me wrong. Well after three years, one of the sticks finally died on me.

Cons: I only just recently found out that it wasn't running at its stock speed of 800. It was an easy bios fix and worked great for another couple of months and then finally died.

Other Thoughts: I am really satisfied with Corsair products. I have a corsair PSU which has been running strong for about 3 years as well. I just purchased 4 gigs of Corsair ram which should be here next week and hopefully those sticks will do me just as good. Always wear an anti static wrist band or touch the case to discharge any built up static electricity when installing computer hardware and you shouldn't have any problems. Unless the item is DOA which I have yet to see with any of the hundreds of parts I have bought over the years through Newegg. Keep it up Newegg, you rock!

5 out of 5 eggsVery good memory

Pros: I originally got a pair of those back in '08 and the memory worked with no problem, and it is still working on my old Asus m2n32-sli Delux board. A last week I decided to bring some new life in to that machine and purchased another pair, I still have not test it, but I am hoping that there will be no problem, like I never had with Corsair memory before, in fact I never had a problem with any memory, the only issues I have seen are due to a motherboard incompatibility, that is why you have to check with your board specs before buying. Since I know that this memory works on my old mainboard, this will not be a problem. I give my feedback after I test it in the next couple of weeks.

Cons: none, so far.

Other Thoughts: I am very pleased with Corsair products, I have multiple memory pairs for laptops and desktops, water cooling and case, all of them work as they suppose to and I have no complains.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory

Pros: I bought this ram last summer. This was after my 32 bit system with an asus mother board finially went south on me. I bougth the new 64 bit system and bought this ram with it. I have never had any issues with this Ram. It worked great from the start. All the ram I have bought from Corsair has been totally trouble free.

Cons: besides waiting for over a week with the possible slowest way that Newegg can send you something on free shipping. Its been great. New Egg stand behind what they sell and they do have great customer service.

Other Thoughts: Seems some people get a bad ram stick or they install ram into a motherboard that has incompatibilty issues. I just fail to understand how people get 2 ram sticks and they are both bad? Well anyway it just seems that your more likely to see a bad review about this ram then a possitive. Most that get good ram don't really write a review. So thought I would show my support for a company that gives me good ram and a good price. Thanks all, Happy Trails!
