Just like corsairs were the fastest ships on the ocean, Corsair memory is the fastest memory around. This 2GB kit of PC2 6400 memory will handle anything you can throw at it. Each pair is tested together at 800MHz, so you know there will be no problems running them in dual-channel mode. This is the ultimate kit for gamers and others that need the best memory out there for their 64-bit systems.

To keep everything running cool these modules use DHX (Dual-path Heat eXchange) technology. The heat removing PCB is surrounded by Corsair's signature heat sink with fins and ribs for maximum surface area for heat dissipation. These combine to give you cool running memory even under heavy loads. So game hard, game long; your memory can handle it.

  • newegg CORSAIR XMS2 Series TWIN2X DDR2 SDRAM The cutting-edge XMS2 series DDR2 memory from Corsair provides the best performance and reliability solution for any DDR2 motherboard. The Twin2X modules are tested in matched pairs at very aggressive latency settings for optimum performance and compatibility.
  • newegg Dual-path Heat eXchange Technology Corsair-exclusive Dual-path Heat eXchange (DHX) technology utilizes two methods to effectively remove heat from the memory circuit board for maximized heat dissipation, resulting in enhanced reliability, stability and performance capability even in the most extremely overclocked memory module.
  • newegg DDR2 800 DDR2 800 delivers incredible performance and platform compatibility with up to 6.4GB/s memory bandwidth per channel for the ultimate work and gaming power!

1 out of 5 eggsRun Like Hell

Pros: rugged built

Cons: packaging doesn't protect parts inside.

Other Thoughts: This item cost me weeks of aggravation. 3 packages in all ... total of 6 sticks... only 2 worked and really slowed my pc down. This was shipped in a bubble envelope, and an oversized one at that. As one would suspect, 1 stick was doa. RMA online and shipped back. Second one showe fairly quick, same problem, 1 good 1 dead. Need this for doing work from home job. As always, newegg cust serv was great. Agent assured me it would be protected in a box and advanced rma'd a 3rd package. This time BOTH were doa. Yet another call and this cust rep said no way a promise could be made like that as once it goes to warehouse its 'up to them'. Why?. I don't like to deliberately abuse good equipment so why would shipping?. Of the last 5 orders 4 of them have had some form of damage to the box, but this bubble envelope was pure stupidity. I've dealt with newegg since 2002 or so, but sadly will no longer order any kind of sensitive electronics again. While the agents have been great, the shipping was tantamount to tripping at the finish line AND the cause of me going elswhere. Sorry newegg but if your listening, I'd rather pay a few a few bucks for (decent) shipping to get good product rather than go through that fiasco again.

3 out of 5 eggsBad pair

Pros: Cheap it was around $30 with shipping.

Cons: memtest reported over 65k errors. Had to RMA and newegg made the process easy.

Other Thoughts: Bought G.SKILL and its working fine. You get what you pay for.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Pretty heat sinks--bought on sale for $29.99 each kit w/free shipping

Cons: I bought 3 kits in July 2010. 1 kit was doa and one kit has failed after 2 months of use. Corsair is good about RMAs but you have to pay shipping to them--this is a poor policy so any $ saved on a Newegg sale is used to return the memory to Corsair.

3 out of 5 eggsTest Right Away!

Pros: I bought 2 pairs (4 GB total) of this RAM for a new computer build, using an ASUS M4A785-M. One pair worked nicely, right out of the packaging.

Cons: I didn't read the fine print in the motherboard manual correctly -- I bought 2 pairs, but you can only use one pair with this motherboard. So, I held onto the other pair for a couple months until I was doing another new build. Unfortunately, this pair didn't work so well. One stick was DOA (my computer wouldn't even pass POST with it installed), and the other stick is seen by the computer as only 768 MB. This was right out of the packaging.

Other Thoughts: It's past 30 days, so I can't request an RMA. Let my experience be a lesson -- buyer beware. Test your RAM right away, even if you end up not needing it for awhile. If the 2nd pair had worked well out of the box, I would give this RAM 5 eggs. However, since it's only worked for me about 60% or so, I've given it 3 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: Good RAM. Not a single problem.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Corsair honors their rebates which is more than can be said for some of the other companies who make you jump through ridiculous hoops and then find some reason to disqualify you (without letting you know).

1 out of 5 eggsCorsair XMS2 (2x1GB)

Pros: None, 100% junk.

Cons: A new build wouldn't even post with this memory.

Other Thoughts: I exclusively use Corsair and have never had a problem with it until now. These are going in the garbage can and not back to Newegg. RAM is best bought at a walk-in store from now on.
