5 out of 5 eggsQUALITY MEMORY

Pros: I have 4GB of this memory installed in an EVGA 790i Ultra motherboard with Visat X64, and it runs flawlessly at 1333 Mhz. Attractive appearance....excellent price for quality DDR3 memory.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: Although the timings on the package state 9-9-9-24 at 1.60v, I have my running stable at 7-7-7-9 at 1.35v.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Ram

Pros: I have an Intel DX38BT motherboard and going off a review here I assumed I could install these with the memory set to auto, which is 1.54v at 7-7-7-20 timing. Never assume anything most of the time you are very wrong. Installed these and installed Vista Ultimate, after installation of Vista windows explorer (not Internet Explorer) would constantly crash. I decided to change the voltage and the timing to the manufacturer specifications which is 1.6v at 9-9-9-24 the memory and more importantly Vista is now very stable, I have yet to see windows explorer crash after adjusting these settings.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Make absolutely sure you manually adjust the voltage and timing to manufacturers specifications!

5 out of 5 eggsGood DDR3 Ram

Pros: I too have an Intel DX38BT motherboard, with 2gig of super talent ram I added and extra 2gig of this ram and the Bios reported 4GB ram, it set the timing to match (SPD 7-7-7-9) @ 1.54V. No problems after 1 week. Currently I'm not overclocking don't see the need to, and my box is stable and it appears to perform better overall.

Cons: The height of the heat spreaders are tall (2.5 inches) My old Gemini cooler extended over my ram slots, I didn't have enough clearance for these to install. So I replaced my CPU cooler so these would fit. (glad I did)

Other Thoughts: Vista 64 game rating 5.6 (this is the lowest setting of all my components). For the price and rebate, I'm pleased and it works.

2 out of 5 eggsRMA these

Pros: Work when installed. Not DOA. Tech Support called back quickly.

Cons: I already was using a set of these with a QX9650 and a DX38BT board. Memory shows as 1333.

The new set knocks my speed to 1066 and timings show as 7-7-720. I called Corsair and they said that I would have to change all the voltages on the NB, memory, etc. and it would still run at 1066. Why does the memory say 9-9-9-24 and a speed of 1333 when obviously is not. This memory is going back and I will purchase a 2x2gb set with the correct timings.

Manufacturer Response:

It is a common limitation for a system to need manual BIOS adjustments, especially when runing 4 up. This is due to the limits of the memory controller, not the memory.
