5 out of 5 eggsCorsair wins again

Pros: Worked with a Dell Laptop that was running Windows Vista and we all know that making sure we have the right chipset makes a difference. This worked perfectly on this particular laptop.

Cons: Don't have any

Other Thoughts: Just ordered another pair for laptop I recently purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks nicely

Pros: Works out of the box, didn't need to do anything fancy.

Cons: Labels are on the opposite side of OEM memory.

Other Thoughts: Replacing low capacity memory on an old laptop. This memory worked great even in the 3 year old laptop.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Worth the Savings

Pros: The price was right. Using a promo code saved me about 5 bucks compared to other brands at the time.

Cons: Didn't work with my early 2008 MacBook Pro.

Other Thoughts: Installed the ram, booted up, went to About This Mac and saw 4 GB. So far, so good. Got my first crash within less than 10 minutes of installation. Restarted, had another crash within 5 minutes. Pulled the ram out and reinstalled to make sure the connection was good, got another crash within 5 minutes. Put the stock ram back in, no more crashes.

Not sure if it was faulty or just incompatible with my particular Mac, but I would avoid this ram if you're using an early 2008 MacBook pro.

2 out of 5 eggsNot So Good!

Pros: Works for about 5 minutes in a Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop.

Cons: Constant Blue Screens and re-starts of the O.S.

Other Thoughts: Lame Memory. I'll be using Crucial from now on, I never
had any problems with their chips...

1 out of 5 eggsIntermittent crashes on MacBook

Pros: Correct size/spec, Newegg shipping

Cons: Caused intermittent (but frequent) crashes on our MacBook. The MacBook was a christmas present, so we did not realize what was going on until after the return period was over.

Other Thoughts: I thought I had tested this memory adequately when I put it in - ran videos and loaded several programs at once. Leave it to a 15-year-old to find its weakness almost immediately!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: - It works
- Got it with a 10% coupon soooo, yay?
- Windows detected all 4GB, no installation issues
- Windows much snappier now

Cons: - Expensive for just 4GB of DDR2 RAM ($40! I could get 8GB of DDR3 for almost the same price...)

Other Thoughts: Bought this for someone with an old Vista 32bit Machine that was only running on 1GB of RAM previously. Obviously has made the system run much faster (I know "faster" is relative). Of course Vista 32bit recognizes only a little bit over 3GB of it, but I know that is the limit of the OS. So far so good.

As always, super fast reliable shipping from Newegg!
