4 out of 5 eggsGreat memory...

Pros: It runs great, and I got a great deal on it.

Cons: One of the modules crapped out and corrupted my install of Windows, and I had to wipe my hard drive (luckily there wasn't much on it).

Other Thoughts: Corsair's repair service was great, real easy to set up. Despite the hard drive charade, I'd definitely buy from them again.

5 out of 5 eggsArrr!

Pros: Corsair bought on Newegg- high reliability, lifetiime gtd, through Newegg so if one is ng, its np to return in 30 days.

Price versus less reliable brands is good.

Various timings and frequencies the ram will assume

Stable overclocker if you have the cpu for it.

Heat dissipation is good. Alternated with some Corsair Pros on the other channel looks pretty cool.

Benchmark maker. Zero board or chip makers who won't care if their stuff doesn't work with Corsair.

Cons: Did have a probelm with one stick and because it was a matched pair, had to return both sticks (bummer). Replacement took about a week and still using them today two years later.

Some boards and Vista (particularly in the early stages of Vista's release) would not work well, boot, or have trouble filling all slots on the board. This problem was not unique to Corsair and was rather a hardware and software issue as systems now typically cross the 4gig and higher barrier.

If you have a 32 bit system, see other thoughts below. This is not a limtation unique to any maker or memory type.

Other Thoughts: NB: that you need special capability to be enabled to take advantage of extra memory much beyond 3 gigs if you are using a 32bit version of a Windows operating systems because of the address-limitation inhereint in 32 bit systems. Some of the tools to allow this use are no longer supported, and others are limited or do not actually increase the amount of memory that can be utilized but rather only whether the user or the system gets access... If you have a 32 bit system, that is, much more memory than 3 gigs is usually a waste.

By the way, keep in mind that some software applications are written in 32 bits and so although you may not have the address limitation on your system, a software that does not have a 64 bit version - while still operating fine on a 64 bit system will have limitations on address-usage within the program.

64 bits folks, its the future, and the future is now. SOFTWARE DEVS WAKE UP!

3 out of 5 eggsarrived not working

Pros: Arrived very quickly, Have used corsair memory many times and was very satisfied.

Cons: Set arrived, installed memory went very easy, Immediatly had all kinds of problems, after 2-3 boots computer refused to boot up at all. Did a ram test and found 1 of the 2 sticks was bad. returned the set. but newegg refunded my purchase instead of shipping out replacement. I think because it was on BO. Would have been willing to wait.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: NONE.

Cons: RMA four times. Two were DOA and other two had errors within the first minute running Memtest86 and would not boot at 4-4-4-12.

Other Thoughts: I have this identical ram that I purchased here at the Egg about two years ago with NO problems. Its been running Oc'ed generously since the day I got it. Very disappointed that I couldnt get a good set...Again I have this ram and its Awesome, but I choose to rate it low because of the Four RMA's.....
