needs a real tech to install
- Pros: it works (i got it on my bench to 2.1ghz)
i use it
- Cons: nope. not for noobs or fake geeks (need to have the know how in overclocking)
- Other Thoughts: in nvidia mobo's only use black ram slots (most nvidia chip sets don't like more then 2 sticks of ram and the black slots sync to fsb )
good stuff and thanks newegg from Fatal1ty
The Best Memory
- Pros: Im a systems admin and work with memory and hardware all the time from pcs to servers so with this for the past 10 years i have built my own pcs. Corsair has always been the memory i put in my own pc and with this memory it didnt let me down. My EVGA 790i Ultra motherboard picked it up right away after in installed the OS and did all the Microsoft updates. If your building your own pc start off with only one chip in your pc. After everything is done stack up your ram. Im actually going to buy another set to bring my pc to 8gigs.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: EVGA 790i Ultra Motherboard, Intel q9550 quad core CPU, EVGA GTX 280 Video Card, 2 150 gig velcoiraptor HDs runing in RAID 0, Cooler Master Gemini II s Heatsink. Thermaltake Toughpower 1200 watt PSU, Thermaltake Armor VH6000BW, This is all topped off with a pair of LG Blu-Ray burners. Sweeeeeeeet
Its DDR3
- Pros: My machine boots with this memory in.
- Cons: Will not run without crashing at rated timings.
EPP is useless, and costs more. See above. To get memory to run at 1600, I have to use 9 10 10 25 2T timings @ 1.9v. Very disappointed.
- Other Thoughts: EVGA 790i F T W motherboard. 2x8800gt's. Silverstone 1kw psu.
Mind you, the 790i nvidia chipset is very picky with memory, and this memory might win races on an Intel chipset. Corsair rep, I already posted at RamGuy, and with your tech support.
