To keep everything running cool, these modules use DHX (Dual-path Heat eXchange) technology. The heat removing PCB is surrounded by Corsair's signature heat sink with fins and ribs for maximum surface area for cooling. The set comes with the optional AirFlow fan system just to keep things as cool as possible. These combine to give you cool running memory even under the hottest action. So game hard, game long; your memory can handle it!

This new 6GB kit ensures optimal performance via an ideal combination of low voltage requirements, speed, and latency, so it's a perfect match for the Nehalem platform to unleash performance you could only dream of before.

2 out of 5 eggs2 of 3 modules are faulty

Pros: don't know

Cons: in half a year started to have windows crashing and some applications hanging, misbehaving and crashing.

While analyzing crash dumps got that problem in memory faults. Memtest86 found aproblem with single bit flip in 2 modules. Now i need to find out what is covered by warranty

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: none

Cons: I got this RAM for my computer build. After putting it together and installing windows 7, it was constantly blue screening on me. I ran a memtest and it failed.

Other Thoughts: I'm currently returning them and getting replacement ones sent back to me. Hopefully these work and I can finally use my computer. Because of this issue I've been without my desktop for over a week now and out an extra 10 bucks shipping

4 out of 5 eggsBE CAREFUL IF ADDING TO PREVIOUS MEMORY

Pros: Had six gig of same part number memory that worked fine for over 3 yrs

Cons: CORSAIR HAS CHANGED THE BOARD DESIGN on this memory to a type which is INCOMPATIBLE WITH EARLIER VERSIONS of SAME PART NUMBER memory.

Other Thoughts: I had ver 1.1 memory before and the new memory was ver 8.16. EXACT SAME PART NUMBER but DIFFERENT and INCOMPATIBLE memory. I plugged the new memory in, hoping to boot with 12 gig and C1 memory error and NO BOOT to POST on Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 motherboard. Contacted Corsair and their tech support said they were incompatible board designs but they were unwilling to correct problem. Newegg, fortunately agreed to RMA and swap old memory for newer, compatible version. GOOD JOB NEWEGG!!

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work

Pros: Nothing

Cons: The RAM shipped to me did not work. It caused me to receive the blue screen of death constantly. I ran a mem test and it showed the RAM as failing so I'm currently sending it back. Hopefully the ones shipped back to me will work so I can use my computer again.

1 out of 5 eggs2 of 18 were bad

Pros: Good price.

Cons: Mysterious computer misbehaviors took weeks and many dollars to fix. I even replaced an i7-920 processor; still had problems. Finally I tried a different memory testing program (memtester instead of memtester86+; I work in Linux-land) and found the misbehaving bit. When I bought 6 more of these, I immediately tested them and discovered one had *two* misbehaving bits. (Yes, I had set the voltage correctly to 6.5v all along, yes the temps were OK, yes the speed was correct at 1600.)

Other Thoughts: Quality control could be better, obviously. I'm planning to avoid this manufacturer, Corsair. Patriot makes a lot of QC claims; I'll try them next. The cost of a memory bit that misbehaves intermittently can be extremely high -- many times the cost of the memory itself. What a monumental bother!

Manufacturer Response:

We are very sorry you had an issue but please keep in mind that any product with a semiconductor can fail. We will gladly replace the memory for you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory-slow shipping

Pros: Great memory. XMP profile easy to use with my Asus P6X58D-E motherboard.

Cons: None with the module but what ever happened to the fast shipping I used to get from here? Took a week to get here:(

Other Thoughts: With the cost of DDR3 so low right now I decided to add some more to my system. Installed and ran mem test and all things great.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat reliable memory.

Pros: Great memory with low latency. I've had mine running for over 6 months now without any issues. I didn't have to change any BIOS settings like many others have noted.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Great item for the price. Corsair makes quality products.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory.

Pros: Solid, reliable memory.

Cons: Not a con so much as a warning: if your mobo isn't set for triple channel, don't buy triple channel memory.
