3 out of 5 eggsit's ok

Pros: I guess they do the job and have yet to fail after 3+ years.

Cons: I do get an error every once in a while on boot from memory. It's rare nowdays, but I did get them on a ASUS X58 Sabertooth which seems like early on after installation. Fortunately, my ASUS MB has a mem button that can clear most error reading it.

If it had been error free, I would give it 5 eggs.

2 out of 5 eggs1 Bad stick

Pros: Fairly fast, low profile.

Cons: I received one bad stick. I didn't realize this until over a year later though. (i had a very busy life after i built the computer) My computer kept crapping out. I blamed it on the motherboard, but I wanted to do everything I could to rule out the motherboard. The video card was good, the PSU checked out, the CPU gave me no issues, and all my temps were well within a reasonable range. I ran Memtest86+ to find I had a bad stick.

Other Thoughts: I think its a bit late to RMA =[

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Cory,

We're sorry for the inconvenience, please feel free to fill out an RMA request on the Corsair Support page and we'll be more than happy to replace the memory kit for you.

Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

5 out of 5 eggsStill excellent!

Pros: XMP detected correct timings instantly, No additional configuration needed. Very good quality RAM!

Cons: $70 for 6GB is rather expensive considering the newer chipsets can use dual channel and 8GB of good quality dual channel RAM is about $40.

Other Thoughts: I decided to purchase another triple channel kite to boost my rig up to 12GB total. I purchased this with a 120GB Vertex3 and installed them both at the same time. 12GB of RAM plus a SSD boot drive is the way PC's were meant to be used. Ample amounts of USABLE power available instantly. I'm a happy camper!

4 out of 5 eggsGood solid memory

Pros: It was installed in my build mid-December of 2010. Still working fine at 1600MHz, 1.65v, and timings 8-8-8-24. They benchmark well. I haven't tried overclocking them.

Cons: None I can think of.

Other Thoughts: They get sort of hot under load, 43C/110F according to a thermal probe I stuck on one of them. I think they're designed to run at that temperature though. I would get a memory cooler but the ones with fans are loud (it's a quiet build) and the solid state ones are too expensive. I'm also considering getting a second set to get 12GB as well, for BOINC and such things.

1 out of 5 eggsTiming verified?

Pros: -Were nice when I was checking em

Cons: -Timing in Beos were not those annouced 9-9-9-9-24

Other Thoughts: Did you check the timing into your Beos?

Mine were: 9-9-9-9-24 with a P6DX58-E.

Local TI tech told me he had to check on Asus website to verify if the memory has been tested on their board.

If they aren't, change timing would result in errors.

Is this true? How do I verify what he'll tell me in a couple of hours?

5 out of 5 eggsscrew OCZ!

Pros: Got it for 1/4 the price I paid for my fancy junk OCZ ram with better timings out-of-box. Runs like ram should and I like the look.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: My old ram was soooo fancy, that I hung it on my wall. They seem to be better ornaments then functionality. People ask me all the time what they hell they are. I tell them, that's my 'fail' wall. It's got a spot next to an ASUS. ^_^

5 out of 5 eggsTR3X6G1600C8 G works in ASRock X58 Extreme

Pros: I installed this kit into an ASRock X58 Extreme back in February 2010. In accordance with the Intel spec., initial boot of the system was with memory speed at 1066 MHz (PC3-8500). After reboot and adjustment of BIOS to use the XMP profile, the system came up with memory speed at 1600 MHz (PC3-12800) and 8-8-8-24 timings. The system has been operating and stable ever since except as noted below.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The system this TR3X6G1600C8 G kit is installed in has been operating 24x7 (BOINC) since it was built in February 2010 except for a brief downtime to replace the video cards, a brief downtime to relocate the system, and a week-long power outage. No manual setting of BIOS parameters other than selecting XMP Profile 1 was required for this memory kit to work at designed and advertised spec. in the ASRock X58 Extreme motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory. Good Price.

Pros: Great price. Memory specs matched an OZC 6Gig kit I bought for my machine last year. Got 12 Gigs now running tri-channel on a GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R. Certainly more than I need but had a gift card that I just found from Christmas last year and thought, "what the hec."

Cons: Even though it's XMP I still had to manually adjust the speed and voltage to get both kits to run stable at rated timings. Not too big of a deal and my setup isn't on the approved memory support list so I'm not taking an egg away.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked fine for 11 months. Pretty decent price for when I bought it (and a pretty decent price now).

Cons: 1 of the sticks just died on me. I was running it stock too. This is the first time I've had memory die on me.

Other Thoughts: I would have picked up another set of these, but since 1 stick just died I'm probably going to buy a set of 2 2GB sticks. I'm on Win 7 Home anyways, which only supports an 8GB physical address space.
