1 out of 5 eggsNot recommended

Pros: Fairly cheap, lifetime warranty with proof of purchase

Cons: 2 out of 4 sticks are dead after 4 years

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't be a verified owner in this case, this ram was purchased by my brother. He doesn't even know how to oc his system so It hasn't been oc'd. Im fairly disappointed that 2 of 4 sticks are dead after 4 years. Maybe some would consider that to be acceptable, I think ram should have a life expectancy of 8 years minimum. Ive had many system builds for myself and my family and have yet to lose a stick of ram in this short of a time. Corsair makes fantastic PSU's from my experience but the memory in this case is pretty poor.

A lifetime warranty is a great gesture but I'd prefer the hardware be built to last. The hassle of detecting what system component is failing, the lost time and money without a pc, then the rma process and shipping expense ends up costing the value of the 2 sticks of ram anyway. It basically negates the free replacement in the end.

btw newegg, what is the criteria of a "high" tech knowledge? It seems like everyone claims to be a high. I would love it if some day you could provide a popup link that would indicate your opinion of technical knowledge per level. It would allow the reviews to be more authentic. Newegg's review base is unmatched by any other source, so don't take it personally :) Years of experience, system builds, code, OS experience, computer science and tech degree....

5 out of 5 eggsRAM

Pros: fast relay and very reliable. I added 2 more of the same cards that i have had for almost 4 years and not even a glitch to speak of. the board recognizes it right away and have never had an issue with them.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I built a gaming computer about 4 years ago and just updated it to speed it up more and while thinking of what memory i should install in it I decided to go with what i already had in there and it works great I have all 4 2g cards in my system 2 are just over a week old and 2 are more than 4 years old and not a problem I love how durable these cards are. I will def stay with this company as long as they make great quality cards like this.

1 out of 5 eggsBad bad bad...

Pros: Well they did overclock to 1600MHz pretty easily when I tried for fun...

Cons: They died after a couple of days, had ordered two of these... they weren't even running 1600MHz anymore, they were at SPD for most of their short span.

Other Thoughts: I won't go against Corsair on this, nor will I try and have them replaced. This was a bad buy and I knew it all along. Should have simply paid more for something nice.

1 out of 5 eggsBad RAM

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Installing this memory, and my computer failed to start. Possibly DOA. I like Corsair, but this ValueSelect manufacturer is going to put them out of business. Don't buy this. Too many DOAs from other reviewers and I thought I'd take my chance and got burned. Currently returning it.

Other Thoughts: Waste of time

Manufacturer Response:

We're sorry to hear that you received a faulty memory kit. Please fill out an RMA request on our Support page and we'll be more than happy to replace it for you.

Thank you,

3 out of 5 eggsDissapointed

Pros: It works (see Other Thoughts)
its cheap

Cons: It crashes my system

Other Thoughts: I bought this ram because it was cheep and the reviews were pree good and when i got it my computer was still around a month away from being in running condition(lack of parts) when i finaly got it built i knowticed when i tried to overclock my amd phenom x6 1100t it got to a point then crashed like a normal computer would. but then i did a torture test and it used a lot of ram and as soon as i used it my computer crashed. so i reset it and put everything back to factory defaults and ran it again. once again it crashed. so i thought it was my cooler. so i replaced it for a liquid cooling system. still does it so i tried fililling my ram by opening tonnes of programs. as soon as it got to 1.6gb used it crashed every time. so i was gonna RMA it but by the time i realized it was passed my 30 day return period. :(.

1 out of 5 eggsDissapointed

Pros: None. It's the second stick that gives me blue screens.

Cons: Waste of money RAM that doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: Bought my system with 4 of these sticks and was getting blue screens several times a day. Finally, I start taking them out and realize that there was a faulty stick. So I use my machine for about 4-5 months without issue until I decide that I wanted to replace the missing stick to go back to my 8GB of memory. As soon as I installed it I got 3 blue screens in an hour. Completely unacceptable. I won't be buying Corsair again and will be telling everyone about their shoddy product.

Manufacturer Response:

Your symptoms indicate that you may have a BIOS related issue. In many cases, a system filling all the memory slots will require a bit of BIOS tuning. Please contact us via any of the tech support options and let us help you resolve this.
