1 out of 5 eggsBLUE SCREEN!!!!

This review is from: CORSAIR ValueSelect 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9

Pros: CHEAP

Cons: the first one i got was DEAD ON ARRIVAL!!
the one for replacement is working, but the bluescreen kicks in everytime after entering ur os. and I CANNOT have it return cuz its for replacement.

Other Thoughts: could be caused by the picky MSI notebook

4 out of 5 eggsDecent laptop RAM

This review is from: CORSAIR ValueSelect 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9

Pros: Works as advertised. Have had this for a while and it hasn't failed on me yet although I do a lot of RAM intensive work.

Cons: It's little slow

5 out of 5 eggsStill working on HP Laptop

This review is from: CORSAIR ValueSelect 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9

Pros: Put it in my dad's laptop. The HP 4530s now runs 8GB of RAM on a 2nd gen i3 CPU. Performs well for it's need.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: Unless the RAM is needed for Desktop Gaming you don't need a heatsink.

1 out of 5 eggsMemory fails, even after replacement

This review is from: CORSAIR ValueSelect 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9

Pros: - Cheap
- Simple-to-use (seemingly no questions asked) exchange service

Cons: - Fails too often (See "Other Thoughts")

Other Thoughts: First purchased unit failed after ~5 months, so exchanged for a second unit. Second unit failed again just recently, <2 months. Memtest86 verifies the faults in Corsair's RAM, and not Lenovo's OEM ram.

I should not have to keep going back to Corsair to test a bunch of unreliable memory cards hoping to eventually get a reliable one. While the RAM was quite affordable when I purchased it, it is not worth this kind of inconvenience. Going to look for a different brand; possibly an OEM RAM to save me the trouble.

1 out of 5 eggs2 New Sticks DOA

This review is from: CORSAIR ValueSelect 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9

Pros: Fits into the ram slots.

Cons: I purchased two of these sticks and the both were faulty. The first stick I had on my desk for about 2 months before I remembered to install it. Once installed, it would not allow my computer to boot. Ran memtest and froze. It was beyond the initial 30 days, so now I can't return it and I'm stuck with a dead stick.

Stick number 2 arrived today, DOA again. I ordered the second thinking the original problem was just a fluke, but it seems from my experience and from the many others in these reviews, Newegg has a bad batch of Corsair sticks.

There are probably ones that are not having problems, but I'm not going to experiment with another stick.

1 out of 5 eggsSubtle failures, caught by MemTest86+

This review is from: CORSAIR ValueSelect 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9

Pros: Cheapest 4GB stick from a reputable manufacturer

Cons: HIDDEN DEFECTS.

Bought two of these sticks from a local retailer for my DELL E6410.

Windows 7 booted fine.

THEN - I used MemTest86+ (from two different USB sticks) and surprise - the test froze.

Next, I ran the BIOS diagnostic, which reset my laptop midway. That repeated twice.

STAY AWAY from these "value" sticks, or test the hell out of them with the right tool (MemTest86+, it's free).

Other Thoughts: SUPER SUPER NASTY that Windows booted and stuff worked fine (I enjoyed the laptop with 8GB for a few hours), but actually the sticks were revealed bad by serious tests (BIOS diagnostics, MemTest86+)

1 out of 5 eggsDOA RAM

This review is from: CORSAIR ValueSelect 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9

Pros: It was inexpensive.

Cons: DOESNT WORK.

Other Thoughts: Tried it in multiple computers with same dead results. Now this is going to cost me money to ship back to newegg which I think is completely unacceptable. You sell me a piece of garbage and I have to pay for the replacement shipping? Newegg should send a box out for this defective RAM with the replacement part like many other companies do that have GOOD customer care. Ive purchased many times from newegg and this is one of the few times I can say im disappointed in a product and the service to alliviate a problem.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR ValueSelect 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9

Pros: Working perfectly, no issues.

Cons: Zero.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded my netbook from 2GB to 4GB. Seems a lot more responsive now, especially if I have a lot of browser tabs open.
