5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM. Cheap-ish fan.

Pros: Good kit overall. Nice heat sink cover over the RAM modules. Feels sturdy when pushing into the slots. Allows option for overclock up to 2000MHz. Runs just fine also at 1600. I am running 1600 only because it's a better timing for my stock CPU speeds right now, but I like that I can ramp it up without fear.

Cons: Autodetect on my motherboard didn't seem to yield good results. I had to go in and manually set certain things to get it to stock 1600 MHz, even.

The fan started the death rattle less than a year in. I thought maybe something important was going south with the noise coming from my case. Turns out it was the RAM fan! Yanked it out and the case is quiet once again, which is a shame because I liked that fan setup. No egg deducted, though, as the RAM is still working just fine.

No documentation included. Not even printed on the packaging itself. Nothing listing the timing you might need to know. No explicit list saying "this is 8-9-8-24 RAM @ 1.65V"... Newegg gave me more info on how to set the RAM than Corsair did.

Other Thoughts: Why can't RAM manufacturers just come out and list the timings on the packaging? There are a number of motherboard BIOS settings that are confusing and if you have to set them manually (or if you want to) it's really hard to find out what the settings on the RAM are!

It would be nice to just look at the back label and see "Oh, I see, I set this, that, and this, and I'm good"... tras, mcas, etc, can be confusing for those not at the advanced level and aren't looking to overclock.

Ram installed on:
EVGA X58 FTW3 132-GT-E768-KR LGA 1366
Stock air-cooled Intel Core i7-960 Bloomfield 3.2GHz

4 out of 5 eggsWorks and is Fast

Pros: Very fast RAM. Ranks a 7.9 WEI in Windows 7. Comes with a cooler which is a bit strange to work with, but it works.

Cons: XMP profile wont work. System will not POST. So, I am not able to use the RAM at 2000MHz, but I have overclocked the processor using one of the presets on the Motherboard and the RAM runs fine at 1805MHz.

Other Thoughts: Could be a motherboard compatibility issue, will have to wait until I contact Corsair to find out.

Also, one fan will cover all of your DD3 slots. If you purchase 2 sets, you will end up with an extra fan, just FYI.

1 out of 5 eggsDead in 3 months

Pros: Well to be honest I cant think of any.

Cons: The ram will not run with XMP.
The ram causes random blue screens.
The ram just plane is not working any where near up to any standards. The ram even gives bsod with every thing stock.
What more can I say other than I will never buy corsair ram again if they don't fix this.

Other Thoughts: 3 of the 6 main components in this computer are corsair.
HX1000 PSU X128 SSD and Dominator GT2000. I had made a decision to go with corsair for all my psu, ssd and ram from that point on but I am having a hard time putting my trust in them after this.

5 out of 5 eggsBeast for a good price

Pros: These sticks are the best bang for buck out there right now. They are blazing fast and the fan that comes with it works great. Can't really complain about their reliability at all. If your looking for some RAM that can get the job done these are the sticks to turn to.

Cons: Not really a con but when I got the sticks they were not at 2000mhz to start off. Had to go into the bios and do that manually which wasn't a big problem at all.

Other Thoughts: I had a few sticks of regular dominator and those gave me problems since day one. System was never stable and one day they just stopped working so I picked these up instead and since then my system is stable and running well. 3D mark scores are nice to look at but watching these things in action in gaming is amazing. They don't get hot at all if you have the fan on them and the fan is not loud at all unless you have it on full blast which is not necessary.

4 out of 5 eggsUnderclock Champ

Pros: Quality craftsmanship, awesome heatsink design, solid feel to each module, pretty nice color scheme, and they down clock to 1633mhz with tight timings of 6-7-6-19 1T.

Cons: Price! Price! Price! They have not followed the lead from other memory manufacturers in lower their price for this 3x2gb @ DDR3 2000mhz, now that the 3x4gb set are out this set should come down in price.

Other Thoughts: Using this module set in an Asus P6T6 WS Revolution with a downclock of 6-7-6-19 1T at 1.65v, a ratio of 21, a QPI of 201, a CPU voltage of 1.35 and of course a Coolit ECO 240 was quad fans in push/pull setup I have a steady 24/7 overclock speed of 4216.93mhz which Kicks Booty! I was never able to run XMP at 2000mhz stable, it would either restart or do a BSOD, but with them downclocked they are very stable with these tight timings.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast and reliable. Timings run at 6-8-6-20 1T @ 1600 @ 1.6v

Cons: Requires some work and tweaking in the bios to get it to operate at 2000. I opted for tight timings instead.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This set rocks, 2000mhz is right, i am running them at 2054mhz with a I7 920@4.1. with the stock cooler they never heat up, no point of the water block.

Cons: Price, had to up the voltage to 1.7 for stability, not really a big deal for 2054mhz

Other Thoughts: Rampage 3 Formula, I7 920 D step 205x20, heatkiller water-block, XSPC 4x120 rad, 8 fans push/pull running at 45% power per T-Balancer bigNG

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: Me and a friend both have this RAM on the Rampage 3 Formula motherboard and have had no issues with it detecting the 6gb or RAM. We did have issues getting the 2000 mhz, but with a quick call to Corsair, the issue was solved.

Cons: none yet

5 out of 5 eggsSolid - Good price too!

Pros: Good price for the frequency potentials (variability) and voltage range. Good test bed for OC'rs and one doesn't need to install the fan kit because they run cool enough up to 1.65 volts without it.

Cons: Don't need the dual fan kit - that's wasted material.

Other Thoughts: Second set of 2x3's purchased for home computer use, some gaming. Use as triple channel Dram.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine in my Rampage III

Pros: Good, fast, solid.

Cons: Can't quite get it to run at 2000Mhz. My computer reboots itself randomly when I have the RAM pushed up to about 1995 - 2005 MHz. I have to run it at 1904 MHz but that's still pretty fast.

Other Thoughts: I haven't once had my mobo report anything less than 6GB no matter how many times I restart it. Once I put in the RAM, that was that; 6GB.

The only issue I have is that I can't get the RAM to run at or around 2GHz without the system rebooting itself. It doesn't blue screen, it power cycles.

However, I don't know if this is due to the RAM or the mobo. The problem with the Asus Rampage III formula is that I can't set the DIMM voltage to an even 1.65v. I have to set it either slightly below or slightly above. I tried letting the board auto adjust and it goes above 1.65v at the higher speed settings; which could be causing the instability.

So I dropped the speed to 1904MHz and the voltage to the setting just below 1.65 and I have no issues.
