5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Used to upgrade an older IBM T40 to a full GB of ram. Noticeable improvement in performance over 512mb. For RAM that isn't really used much anymore, $16 really is cheap.

Cons: N/A

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair Memory

Pros: Good memory

Cons: I canceled the order made 10 minutes after I placed it.

Other Thoughts: Good memory if yo need it. Why newegg is still shipping the memory is beyond me.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The laptop booted.

Cons: The laptop sees the wrong quantity of RAM (256 MB instead of 512 MB). I RMA'd the first stick, received a replacement, and the new stick has exactly the same problem.

Other Thoughts: My laptop (an IBM Thinkpad R40e) has 768MB of DDR 333. I wanted to bring it up to a full gig, but the laptop does not see these sticks as 512MB. Even with all the other RAM removed, it still sees this memory as 256MB. At this point I don't know if it's a defect with the RAM or a compatibility issue. The laptop recognizes a Samsung 512MB DDR 333 stick just fine.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None whatsoever

Cons: This is just the worst product. I shouldve read the reviews. Didnt think newegg will still sell this kinda defects. I bought 2 at regular price and even paid the shipping for it. Then when i installed it. It doesnt even boot up then when i tried to boot with just 1 of these it only shows 256 instead of 512.

Other Thoughts: Luckily newegg is the best at customer service and will refunded me for the product along with the shipping that i have paid. At least i can still trust newegg.

1 out of 5 eggsRegisters as 1/2 capacity

Pros: Each module only registers as 256mb. Installed two modules in Sony FCG-FRV37. Shows up as 512mb minus the video memory in bios instead of the full 1GB. Will be returning for refund and will purchase another brand elsewhere.

Cons: Cheap but not worth the hassle!

Other Thoughts: Should have purchased ram that is guaranteed to work with that Sony model.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid upgrade for the IBM T41

Pros: This was a a huge upgrade for a laptop I got from work that came with 256 mb of ram.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Although I probably wont have the need to max out the ram I have now, I probably should have gone with 1 gig of ram for 8 dollars more.

5 out of 5 eggsPerrrfect!

Pros: Installed two on an Acer Travelmate 2312LCi_L and it worked perfectly, from first reboot.

Delivery was prompt and efficient.

Good product, good service!

Cons: None whatsoever

Other Thoughts: I bought this to increase the memory of an old laptop that is still working fine (now used as spare) but got bogged down by Norton 360. It is now at max 1gig, and performance has improved significantly.

1 out of 5 eggsbad ram

Pros: none

Cons: when I installed both sticks of ram the system will not not come up to the bios or anything else when a single stick is installed with the original ram stick the system will open up the bios and boot up but shows that the 512MB stick is not installed. Bought 2 sticks--both are so defective that the bios does not recognize them. Yes both sticks are installed correctly.

Other Thoughts: Will not buy Corsair VALUESELECT RAM in the future.

Manufacturer Response:

Based on what you have posted, and due to the age of DDR1 based systems, you most likely have an issue with compatibility. It can be difficult to find new memory for an old laptop and it sometimes requires BIOS adjustments or a BIOS update. Please contact Tech Support and we'll assist you.

I can't really give a rating on the memory itself. This is more of a complaint against Newegg.
