4 life
- Pros: man i have the version 4 of these sticks, i paid close to 200 bucks a gig back in the day when ddr400 was topnotch.
i have these running at 433 2,3,2,6 1t on a asus a8n32x sli, x2 4400 oc'd 3.0 on 1.325 volts and i cant belive i just found 2 more gigs of these.. this is SOME OF THE BEST DDR400 evermade
- Cons: that other ppls think it has poor cooling, its ram...
- Other Thoughts: most i have gotten my sticks (v4) was 500mzh great oc for ddr400, also corsair give lifetime warranty. I have dealt with corsair so much that i feel confident, in saying i belive they will let me send in my v4's to match these new ones to be running total of 4gigs @ 2,3,2,6 1t
Probably good
- Pros: The weight of the heatsinks and the fact that they have a meter on them to show usage is good and carries a cool factor. The timings looked great, and overclock-ability was promising (even though I didn't plan on using it).
- Cons: Didn't work in a Dell Optiplex GX270 Desktop Form-Factor.
- Other Thoughts: It was probably my fault that they didn't work, although crucial.com's configurator said that the board would accept this type of RAM (PC3200) and the board has 4 slots with a maximum of 4GB of RAM. I only put this 2GB kit in, with an A07 BIOS (most recent BIOS) and it just kept beeping at me. Re-installed them and same thing. Tried only one stick a time and it still didn't work. Had to put in my old ones.
I couldn't send the kit back either, so I'll have to use them in another system (when we get one that can use it) and I'm buying the kit from crucial. At least that way it will be guaranteed.
Oh well, nice memory though.
Great Memory
- Pros: Didn't realize this wasn't the C2 version of the RAM, but no problem. A couple of quick clock changes in BIOS, fixed up memory timings, and 2T made this RAM the same specs as my overclocked C2. Lights look pretty cool.
- Cons: Well the cooler isn't the best, but if you buy any memory fan that attaches to the clips, these cool really well. Would suggest raising voltage to 2.7v if you plan on matching the C2 specs.
- Other Thoughts: If you are running x86, stay with two gigs. Running these with dual video cards leaves me with only 2.7 gigs of actual RAM. MTRR mapping only crashes my system, so I wouldn't even bother.
