Mushkin Enhanced 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) ECC Fully Buffered Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple Server & Mac Pro Model 976539A

Pros: Id10ts like me that don't comparison shop first.

Cons: Mac pro 1,1 showing whats supposed to be 2 dimms of 2 gig each (4 total) instead is listed as 2 dimms of 1 gig each making this nearly twice the price of any other 2x1 memory listed.

Other Thoughts: Avoid mushkin. They are nothing but an off brand priced like premium memory.

Pros: It fit properly and was recognized immediately. No issues in Mac OS X or Boot Camp.

Cons: None

Cons: 1 of the DIMMS was DOA.

Other Thoughts: Since I see I'm not the only one with this experience, it does make me wonder whether Mushkin is doing QA on these DIMMS. Going with another brand for the replacement.

Pros: Works well in my quad Mac Pro. Brought my system from 1 to 5 GB with a 3 minute install. All 5GB detected, I can now easily run Motion, Final Cut, and Soundtrack Pro at the same time. I'm considering buying at lease another pair so Motion will give me even longer real-time renders in full HD.

Cons: I don't know... not Apple Certified? No one really needs Apple Certified RAM anyway.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to remember to install your pairs of RAM on alternating riser cards in your Mac Pro. First PAIR goes on the top riser, the second PAIR goes on the bottom riser and so on until all slots are full. You can also run in Quad Channel if you have identical pairs on the top and bottom risers.

Pros: Price was comparable to Kingston. Claimed correct speed and worked in my MAC PRO... well 1 chip did....

Cons: ... the other one.. was DOA. No pair.. no ram... returned for Kingston brand. Works great and it costs less

Cheaper, better name IMO

Pros: Great Product, Great Value, Can't beat it! Bought 4 sets to bring my Mac Pro to 16 GB.

Cons: one

Pros: Memory works fine

Cons: Very slow to pay rebate. Several months waiting and I still don't have it. Their site says "processing". Assume you won't ever see it and if the price still looks good, only then buy the RAM.
