5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it is supposed to do.

Pros: ran it at the listed timing. a little total war: empire, web surfing, and videos. I've logged about 3 days on the computer with no issues at 5-5-5-15, 1066.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsBest RAM for the Money!

Pros: It's built-in SPD chip automatically configures the BIOS to it's settings of 1066MHz @ 5-5-5-15! Wonderful!

You might want to adjust your DIMM voltage to be at least 2.0 VDC though. I set mine for 2.06 VDC.

FAST, FAST, and did I say FAST! You cannot go wrong using MUSHKIN Enhanced RAM.

It replaced Kingston HyperX which is good, just not the level that MUSKIN Enhanced Blackline is.

Cons: No cons on the RAM at all. It is Newegg's Free Shipping via their Eggsaver shipping policy. Took one week to get from Memphis, TN to Austin, TX., by way of a suburb in Atlanta, GA via DHL Express then to the US Post Office.

Also, RAM was shipped in a padded shipping envelope with the sticks themselves in a blister pack. IF the package had been flexed in any way it would have broken the RAM DIMM PC boards.

It really needs to be shipped in a small corrugated box at least.

Other Thoughts: Buy this RAM you will not regret it !!

5 out of 5 eggsBlazing!

Pros: This is my second set of 2x2gigs of this stuff. My first set was the accent series that had much thicker heat sinks. These babies plugged right into the last two slots I had open and now I've got 8 gigs of screaming fast 1066 mem. My Asus Maximus Formula 2 mobo set them straight to this speed with 5/5/5/15 timings. Couldn't really ask for anything more. Never had a BSOD in over 2 years of use.

Cons: Heat sinks move around when you put these into the slots.. doesn't feel all that great, but owell.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: Superfast memory, and Mushkin is the BEST...period.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Not DDR3, but do the math. DDR2 1066 with cl5 vs. DDR3 1333 cl7, I'd rather have a slightly lower clock and 2 less latency ticks.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT!

Pros: Runs great. Got an error in Memtest but it turned out to be that memtest was reading the timings as 8-5-5-15 when in reality i have it set to 5-5-5-15 and they are perfectly stable in windows so I'm chalking it up to memtest not the ram. Runs strong haven't had any real problems with it.

Cons: It read as 800 Mhz when i initially put them into my Asus M4A785-M mobo so I had to set the timings manually in the Bios (which takes only a minute or two so no big deal). Was unstable at 2.05v. Kept causing a system freeze. However, a quick switch to 2.1v and it has been problem free since then.

Other Thoughts: I got these on sale for $99 around Christmas. Hope they go on sale again i plan on picking up another set of these.

4 out of 5 eggsReview Update from below Review

Pros: I contacted Mushkin as requested in my previous review. Nick was very helpful, and was able to verify that they had some issues with this memory and the NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI chipset, an odd chipset anyway.
Mushkin sent me a new 2x2gb kit that tested fine with the motherboard at 5-5-5-15 2.09v 800 and 1066Mhz, as well as 4-4-4-12 800Mhz. I do not know what was different, but it worked. Waiting on a new 2x1GB kit he is sending to test that and then together, but expecting good results.
Great Support from our local Colorado Company.

Cons: NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI chipset

4 out of 5 eggsNot at advertised speeds

Pros: Was easily overclocked to advertised speeds

Cons: retrieved ram at 800 mhz, but oc'd it to 5-5-5-15 1066mhz (according to BIOS) but when checked in windows, it says its only going at 533mhz. any ideas?

Other Thoughts: works great except the 533mhz thing :(

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

Please visit our support forums at forums.mushkin.com for assistance with this. As a policy, we program all performance memory with an SPD at JEDEC spec (in this case DDR2-800).

Thanks!

5 out of 5 eggsGood choice for 680i

Pros: Works good on 680i EVGA mobo. Mem is EPP/SLI-ready, and is recognized by the bios!!! Runs best at 2.1 volts. Really made Win7 64-bit boot faster, compared to 2x1gb sticks.

Cons: Needed 2.1 volts to gain stability? 2.05 recommended sometimes gave BSOD in games.

Other Thoughts: BSOD problems prompted me to try lower speed/faster timings: 800mhz, 4/4/4/12/2t 1.8v = GOOD. 533mhz, 3/4/3/12/1t 1.8v GREAT! I really hate running high voltages if I can avoid it, and lower timings/lower speeds actually equal bandwidth in some tests compared to 1066/5/5/5 ratings? Lower cas or 'T' timings can really improve mem speed/bandwidth?

You old timers understand this, but for the new-b's, every clock tick is a delay? Lower cas ratings = faster. A 1T command rate is twice as fast as a 2T? The clock speed may be lower, but if the computer does the same job or more, with a lower delay, the bandwidth is higher? And it usually does it at a lower voltage, less heat? As always, you need to experiment? Your mileage may vary... This is a very OLD 'overclockers' trick? High-perf mem runs REALLY GOOD at lower clocks/aggressive timing?
