5 out of 5 eggsAmazing performers!

Pros: Bought a pair of these over 1 year ago. They ran 1600 lync'd/sync'd at 7-7-6-18, 2T on my EVGA 790i mobo.
The heatspreader on these things is incredible, and keeps them really cool.
Since they are so solid, i recently purchased another pair.
All 4 of them fit perfectly in the 790i's dimm slots.

Cons: After doing some reading, i pretty much expected 8gigs wasn't going to run at the product's advertised settings.

Currently, i have them running 1600 at 8-8-8-20, 1T. This is still very respectable, and i'm quite pleased with how well they stress tested at these timings.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure i could get them overclocked much higher with some googling and more tweaking. Maybe next weekend!

These are the same DIMMS as
The amazing Ascent heatspreader on these sticks makes them worth the difference in price.

Check it out:
They are basically self-contained liquid cooling units.

Mushkin for life!

Pros: Im an overclocker and good memory needs to be flexible which this mem is. Its very stable at rated speeds and I'm now using it in my i7 1156 pin board and it works with no problems at all

Cons: no cons because its working so well but I cant find info about if the i7 1156 processor likes the 1.65v or the 1.85v mem. So far the 1.85v has no issues (1.65 is tripple chanel, 1.85v is duel chanel mem) the 1156 pin boards use duel chanel mem

Other Thoughts: I bought Mushkin redline for another build because this is such good mem, same I'm still pleased works great.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning perfectly

Pros: Popped 4 of these in and increased my voltages slightly and got it to run at 1600 easily on an MSI NF980-G65.

Cons: Heatsink very thick. Thought I was going to snap one of them off my board.

Other Thoughts: Perfect. Windows experience gives it a 7.4 out of 7.9. Cant ask for much more.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Ram, Questionable Heatsink

Pros: Heatsink is very well made and dissipates heat nicely.

Cons: The heatsink was not designed very throughly. While it is nice, it is too thick to allow installation of RAM in adjacent slots (i.e. you need to skip slots so they will fit). The RAM looses an egg for the heatsink being too thick. Otherwise, it would be a 5.

Other Thoughts: Works if you just plan to install 4GB (2GB x 2) in most systems that are dual channel. Did not work on mine with all 8GB installed (2GB x 4) as I would have liked. Had to install just half. I guess I will save the other sticks for another system. So disappointing. Oh well.

2 out of 5 eggsThey are OK

Pros: Great quality, very well build, great heatsinks, great specs.

Cons: The first time I got these they were DOA, send them back to newegg and got another set, then no matter what I did I couldn't get them to run at the advertise timing, I even bump up the NB voltage to 1.45v and the ram voltage to 2.0v. the max I could go was about 1500 MHz.

Other Thoughts: I am running them at 6-6-6-15 at 1400 MHz and they are stable. cant go more than that. I don't know what the problem is, I am switching my motherboard to Asus Rampage Extreme, maybe I could get a little bit more from these.

5 out of 5 eggsAM3 mobo owers look no further

Pros: Returned my Corsair XMS3 DHX (which I couldn't get close to 1600 speeds in my new Asus M4A79T Deluxe mobo w/Phenom II X3 720 BE proc) for this set. Achieved advertised speeds (1600 at 7-7-6-18 @ 1.9 volts) right off the bat. Sandra reports 12.7 GB memory bandwidth. Will grab another pair soon...

Cons: One of the two sticks was a no-post DOA - RMA'ed through Mushkin instead of Newegg.

Other Thoughts: Mushkin customer service was just stunning - had another set via FedEx (ground) sent to me right away, complete with a pre-paid cross-ship label. I've never had a bad module, so I figured I was due. Newegg was excellent, as usual - if a product is in stock in the New Jersey warehouse, even ground UPS reaches Boston in one day.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat memory, bad sales experiance.

Pros: Memory is great, I already owned one kit and wanted to max out with another 4gb for a total of 8gb. (My original kit runs great, dont know about this one because newegg's poor shipping. See below)

Cons: Newegg's POOR packing (product with paper ball ontop) caused me to get a useless package. The package came and only had one of the two memory sticks. Who knows if it shipped without the 2nd stick or poor packing caused it to some how sqeeze out the box mid-transit.

Other Thoughts: I ordered a replacement and have to RMA this set back. I sure hope replacement comes as should and that I dont have to fight for a refund for someone elses mistake. They should staple these darn packs shut and wouldn't have this issue, that and pack things better...

5 out of 5 eggsMushkin Anyone?

Pros: Rock solid and stable on three AM3 boards: DFI 790FXB-M3H5, MSI 790FX-GD70 and Asus M4A79T at 1600MHz. I was able to get it to 1750 on the MSI board with stock timings and 1.9v (four sticks, 8G total) without any trouble. Memory runs very cool - thanks to Ascent technology.

Cons: None... I ended up trying four different DDR3's and settle with this. Heat spreaders are a bit wide for the above MSI board, but I managed to push'em a bit hard to get them fit. I'm still unsure whether or not they will yank my memory slots off the board, but that was the risk I was willing to take.

Other Thoughts: Pick Mushkin 996601 if you are using the MSI board. Same chips but different heat spreaders.

I can't even recall how many pairs of Mushkin I have used over the years, but I have always been impressed with the performance and compatibility of this brand.

5 out of 5 eggsAmend Original Negative Review

Pros: The timing on this set of sticks is 7-7-6-18 and was not stable on my ASUS Rampage extreme. Mushkin RMA'd them with the newer version with the timing of 7-7-7-20 and they worked perfectly!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I am elated with the customer service of Mushkin. They did everything except come to my home and take the original product out of my machine and insist that I try the new sticks. I am most pleased that now I can finally take advantage of the Rampage Extreme option of adding an additional 4GB of RAM@
