5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: No problems - worked first time out of the box. Came with USB to SATA cable and software to copy existing drive to the SSD.

Cons: None - very happy with the SSDs.

Other Thoughts: Included bonus download of UBISOFT's Ghost Recon. The promo code was rejected as invalid by UBISOFT.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD for the right price

Pros: I got this SSD for around $180 on sale. It's crazy fast and durable. Windows 8 boot time is less than 10 seconds. Also loading in the Witcher 2 is almost nonexistent.

Cons: None. Only wish SSD prices continue to drop.

5 out of 5 eggsNo issues here.

Pros: It's a great reliable HDD. I've owned it since 05/13/2012 without any issues. It's clearly portable, and I once carried it onto a plane with me.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsWorked great... for 3 hours

Pros: Easy install
Fast (while it worked, anyway)

Cons: Died literally hours after install

Other Thoughts: Purchased for new system build on the basis of the stellar Samsung 830 reputation. Worked long enough to install/validate Windows 7 and a few standard programs (Firefox, Steam, etc.), then died completely in the middle of a game install. Unrecognized by BIOS, even after switching every combination of SATA cables, ports, power supply cables, etc. Even tried hooking it up over the included USB cable to a different computer. No dice. RIP, Samsung SSD.

Luckily I had bought a 10K RPM Western Digital 500GB hard drive, and I was able to reinstall on that. I didn't notice a tremendous difference in speed.

Returned the SSD for a refund. Think I'll stick with the slower but more reliable standard hard drive technology until SSDs get more dependable.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Performance & Size for the Price

Pros: Works like a champ. I performed a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 so I never attempted using the mind transfer software utilities provided with it. It boots up much more quickly than any other machine I have. The action is crisp with applications launching in a distinctly snappy manner.

Cons: I am annoyed that these things don't come with an adapter so they can be installed in a case. I knew it going in so i ordered the adapter at the same time but it was $15 for a silly little piece of plastic. It's a lot like printers that never come with teh cable needed to make them work. Charge me $3 more and give me what I need in one place to get it done. Sheesh!

Other Thoughts: My build:
Motherboard-Asus F2A85-V PRO FM2 AMD A85X
CPU/APU - AMD A10-5800K
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 16GB's
Power Supply - Rosewill Capstone 750W
Case - Rosewill Thor V2
CPU Cooling - Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2
SSD - Samsung 830 Series 256GB (For OS & Software)
HDD's - 5 HDD's of various description totalling 9TB's (For Storage. I intend to replace them with 3TB or 4TB drives over time)

5 out of 5 eggsAs expected!!

Pros: Fast as described.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I replaced my hard drive from my Dell N4010 laptop with this SSD and installed Windows 8 pro. It's really fast. It takes 8 seconds to go to the login screen after I power it on. 1-2 seconds from standby. Didn't run any benchmark tools but Windows 8 rating for this ssd is 7.6 out 9.9. That's good enough for me!!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent performance

Pros: speed

Cons: no mounting hardware

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 boot time to desktop: 15 seconds

I game, and this is simply the best performance upgrade you could give yourself outside of a graphics card. Especially nice in games like Guild Wars 2 where there are load screens all over the place.

Had the drive for 6 months now and it is running fast and without issue.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny...

Pros: I was skeptical when I first decided to invest in an SSD for my new build. Now I will recommend them to everyone! My system boots in under 5 seconds! My games load faster than I can blink!

It's truly a transforming experience to use an SSD for the first time.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: DISCLAIMER: I have only had this SSD For a little over a week and a half. The true test of a good drive is in its longevity, so time will tell if this is a good product. I will post an update if the drive fails.

No issues yet, though!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very, VERY fast drive. Even using SATA II it is substantially faster than my old HDD. Installed it in My HP Pavilion m6 and boot times went from 2:45 to :25 on average which is great. Sequential reads were at 500 MB/s and writes at 400 MB/s. IOPS was a little lower than advertised (63k read 17k write) but again I'm using SATA II instead of SATA III.

Cons: One minor complaint would be space. I went from a 750 GB HDD to a 256 GB SSD. But for me speed is more important than capacity.

Other Thoughts: Norton Ghost worked great and cloned 150 GB of my old drive in about 90 minutes. The transfer cable was great since I didn't have one and I bought this at $189, which was cheaper than the bare drive. Overall I would recommend this drive to anyone looking for an SSD. This SSD coupled with 16GB of RAM an an Intel core i5-3210M this machine will be set for a long time.

5 out of 5 eggsFast!

Pros: I recently bought this for my new build since it was on sale here on Newegg. After getting it installed in my system I benchmarked it with AS SSD Benchmark 1.64 and the results were as follows: Read 496.77MB/s Write: 409.34.

This is a really fast drive, I am using it for game and application storage as a secondary drive. I have it plugged into a SATA III 6Gbits/s. Your speeds will be less if you don't have SATA III on your board or if you are using a 3Gbits/s port.

Cons: It came with Norton Ghost and a USB hard drive transfer cable, I didn't really need either of these so I sold them to make some extra money back on my purchase.

Other Thoughts: This is my first Samsung SSD, I've hard a lot of good things and as far I can tell it is up to par with other drives on the market. Other than this drive I have owned a Crucial M4 and an OCZ Vertex. I may purchase another Samsung SSD in the future if the price is right. With all of the SSD manufacturers getting closer to each other in terms of quality it's really a buyer's market.

I would recommend this SSD for someone looking to use it to store large applications or games. You could use it as a boot drive if you wanted to as well though. Overall it's a great product, I recommend it.
