I haven't clocked it, but it blew away the 7500RPM hard drive I replaced in my Lenovo ideapad y580. My laptop also runs silently, is noticeably cooler, and wakes up from sleeping instantly. Cons: I did the installation myself on a Lenovo ideapad y580. I consider myself to be pretty tech savy, I read many reviews online, and it was still difficult. Took me about 2 days to transfer over my operating system using an external usb drive case. Now that it's finished I'm so happy. Other installation methods like a fresh install might be easier, but I wanted to keep the one touch recovery and other software functions on my y580's factory install. Perfect 7.9 Windows Experience Index, excellent benchmarking scores, very quick boot up (less than 10 seconds easily). Plenty of memory - not sure why I even have the other hard drive. I guess because I can. Cons: Occasional blue screens on start up. Occurs whether my other hard drive is plugged in or not. Never experienced a blue screen with the other hard drive (or any other computer build for that matter). Tried a complete OS reinstall, but still see blue screens every few days or so. Other Thoughts: Definitely make sure you switch the SATA to AHCI in the BIOS. Increased WEI score from 7.4 in IDE mode to 7.9 in AHCI mode.
