5 out of 5 eggsworks in a Dell PowerEdge 1950

Pros: Works as advertised.

Cons: None that I am aware of.

Other Thoughts: Bought my PowerEdge 1950 from Dell about 2.5 years ago, it came with 4GB installed. Dell wanted something around $1,500 for a 8GB memory upgrade, it was too pricey so I passed on the upgrade. I recently bought two sets of these & I now have 16GB.

I may eventually add another two sets to get up to 32GB.

3 out of 5 eggsFailed after 1.5 years

Pros: Relatively cheap way to add 8 GB of RAM to a server.

Cons: Failed after a year and a half. BIOS test failed one stick, other stick started causing OS errors.

Other Thoughts: Server RAM should be lasting longer than this.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat while it works

Pros: Great price, fast high quality ram while it works.

Cons: Failing after a year.

Other Thoughts: I've purchased about 12 sticks of this for several servers over the past 2 years. I have several units that are currently failing which isn't good. Taking production equipment offline is always a recipe for problems. Desktop memory is prone to failure, but server ram shouldn't be dropping off under steady-state operation after only a year or so.

5 out of 5 eggsGood to go

Pros: Installed on Dell Precision 690 WKS with 2 Quad xeon's - running 2008 Hyper-V.
Works great. Helps with running mulitple VM Servers.

Cons: Still costs alot. Would like to buy 3 more sets. (32GB ram for VM's)

Other Thoughts: lower the cost so I can buy more.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Excellent price on excellent RAM. Works perfectly in a heavily-used Dell PE 2950 III running VMware ESX 4.0. Even the blister pack was uncharacteristically easy to open.

Cons: Arrived so quickly I wasn't ready yet to install it! ;)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with HP XW6400/XW6600

Pros: Quick, Cheap, and gives me 16gb to work with virtual machines - looks exactly like the HP recommended ram.

Cons: Newegg did not specify the timing of the ram.
Prices on newegg for this ram change quite frequently.

Other Thoughts: Works with HP Workstations xw6400 and xw6600 - saved our company 10k in cost (ordering through hp we had the quote of ~$2200 for 16GB ram - 4x4gb, and that is just crazy for 5 workstations).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM!

Pros: Great RAM! Popped it in my Dell Poweredge 1950 that I use to run CSS and TF2 servers for Lan parties and did a 12 pass memory check. Came out squeaky clean.

Will definitely buy again when its time for another upgrade :)

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Great RAM for the price and I love the anodized blue color.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Memory

Pros: Installed in a Sunfire X4150 Intel Xeon based server. Ran memtest86+ overnight with ECC enabled, and no errors, 3 passes. 32GB of this in 2 separate servers, and no issues. 4GB dimms are the sweet spot for maximizing RAM vs $

Cons: Nothing to put here, cheap, reliable, compatiable, lifetime warranty RAM

Other Thoughts: Save your money upgrading from the manufacturer. Get a lifetime warranty from Crucial.
