1 out of 5 eggsStay Away

Pros: Looks GREAT. The flashing LED's really spruce up a windowed case.

Cons: Runs hot. Slow speed. High price.

Other Thoughts: I purchased these in the hope that the previous reviews were just overblown in some way. Unfortunately, past reviews were spot on. I received these, put them in my system and they worked absolutely GREAT. For two weeks. Then one of the chips failed... I took out the pair and continued on the other pair I had bought. One week later, one of those chips failed too. So I put the two remaining good chips (one from each set) in the PC intending to RMA replace the bad pair... Two days later, another one failed. I had no more chips left to test to see which of the two chips it was... I sent in an RMA request for these, but it appears NewEgg quit carrying them, so I got a refund. Thanks, NewEgg! It's service like this that I keep coming back for!

Bottom line: Stay away from these chips, but don't stay away from NewEgg! You just can't beat their service!

3 out of 5 eggsHigh failure rate?

Pros: The memory looks really nice, if you have a window case it gets a lot of comments. It's also crucial, which I've never had compatibility problems with or failures with until now.

Cons: Failed after about 6 weeks. Things just stopped working right, eventually realized it was the ram. One of the two chips went bad so I ran it on the good one for a bit until I had time to RMA it for replacement. This item is out of stock/discontinued, which leads me to wonder if the whole batch had QA problems and was replaced by the near identical looking ram/specs under a new model number.

Other Thoughts: Instead of sending me the new model number as a replacement Newegg gave me a refund. Oh well, the new stuff was cheaper than what I paid for this stuff so it's money in my pocket. I'm just surprised they didn't realize the stuff was the same thing only with a different model number.

5 out of 5 eggsRed Red Shine is oh so fine!

Pros: 24 hour stable at 520Mhz 5-5-5-15 at only 2.05 volts. The lights are pretty cool as my Zerotherm ZEN has a clear fan with no lights so it gives it a nice glow.

RED RED RED and more RED as in PCB, chrome heat spreaders and lights. They really go all crazy when you will start stressing them out.

Cons: the accent lights are tough to see so that might be overkill. And if you don't have a case with a window then the lights do you no good.

Took awhile to get them this high. Finally figured out I needed to set the TRCF to 127.5ns in bios (all 4 of them).

Other Thoughts: Got a great combo deal on this a few days after I got my x2 5000+ Black Edition which is running along at 260Mhz x 12. I ordered the CPU then a few days later this memory was on a combo deal with it. I contact customer service via chat and they have me the combo price, rush processing and free shipping and got them out that same day. New Egg Rocks. I made the mistake of getting my Biostar n750 from Gee-wiz and it didn't shipping then came ground from CA. Never again will I not get something from anyone from NewEgg just to save a few bucks.

3 out of 5 eggsFailed after 6 weeks on Abit IP35-Pro

Pros: It ran quite well for one month. Lights give you a very quick indication of how much RAM is in use.

Cons: It died after about six weeks of running at stock voltage and speed (4-4-4-12 2.2v) for one month in an Abit IP35-Pro. Machine started acting weird, and Memtest+ 1.7 generated 116,664 errors after running for about two minutes. Lights are VERY bright. I am currently awaiting an RMA from Crucial; they claim that certain builds of this Ballistix RAM are incompatible with the P35 and X38 chipsets.

Other Thoughts: Crucial's response was: "There is a known issue with the build that you have regarding compatibility with the P35 and X38 chipset motherboards. The build you have (BL25664AR804.16FD5) simply will not work properly in your motherboard. You need the BL256AR80(A).16FD5 (Which I have set up your replacement as) to work properly in your motherboard. Also, your BIOS settings will be different with the new modules. Instead of DRAM voltage at 2.2 volts, you need to change it to 2.0 volts. Timings remain the same at 4-4-4-12." Interesting that the voltage changed; maybe this build is better.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I actually have this memory running at DDR-1200 6-5-5-18 @ 2.1v on a Gigabyte P45 board. Not only Prime95 stable, it ran well with Crysis and SupCom. (either will crash memory when Prime95 won't)

Stability stopped abruptly at DDR-1200, so I'm wondering if it is the chipset rather than the memory keeping me from an even higher overclock. But, a 50% overclock sounds good to me LOL.

Cons: Uhhh....it didn't come with a cold six-pack of dark Heinie?

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Product w/Video Review

Coming Soon!

Pros: Love them!! Had to adjust bios to the rated timings - that was fixed with one simple click in the bios. Xp recognizes 3.25gb in my Xp rig. Creates a purple ambiance lighting effect at times when the red light mixes with my blue ones - looks cool.

Cons: A bit expensive at the $150 mark... then later dropped but you gotta have the best to be the best. You probably will never tap into the 3gb range using Xp as I am.

Other Thoughts: To ALL those people whining about the lights... you now have no excuse to cry "Oh I didn't know these had lights" and give it a low rating. View the video!! Light activity is under gaming load.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet... usually

Pros: Slick LEDs. No issues at all.

Cons: Slick LEDs aren't so slick if you're trying to watch DVDs in a dark room -- kinda distracting. lol

Other Thoughts: If I decide to pick up a copy of Vista to triple-boot with XP and Ubuntu, I'll likely put in another set of these, too. You can never have too much RAM, right? ;)

5 out of 5 eggsNot too shabby...

Pros: Nice ram. The LED's are cool to watch, if you're bored sitting at your computer. The speed is good as well. I currently have this OC'd to 1000mhz and haven't had any issues with it. For DDR2 800, it's a quality product.

Cons: A lower voltage requirement would be nice, but it's not a con, really.
