4 out of 5 eggsDecent memory, kinda off price

Pros: Efficient heat spreader.
Low latency

Cons: Had to get another 2gb due to memory overloads via mad multitasking. Guess they dont hold up.

Other Thoughts: Had some BSOD errors involving memory, thought it was my RAM but it was a huge percentage of my HD that was fragmented like over 10%. Kinda freaked at first. Cleaned up my disk and have been error free for weeks.

1 out of 5 eggsAnother RAM chip Dead

Pros: it has heat spreader. They work when you get them for a while.

Cons: Died within 6 months. No overclocking, VERY GOOD cooling on PC.
I had random BSODs and had to spend a good amount of time tracking this down to the bad RAM chip. I have 2 of this chips on my pC and memtest gave me errors for both, but just one of them seems to be the problem. I hope the second chip I have in my PC holds me until I get an RMA, or just buy new memory altogether.
I am very disappointed. I built 4 systems with the same RAM. I hope that the other ones don't die on me.
I have never had a RAM chip die on me so quick. Went with crucial because I have used their regular chips before without issues. Went with their Ballistik line hoping it would be better, but I guess not. Will be reaching out to the manufacturer.

2 out of 5 eggsWould Not Recommend

Pros: Crucial's Return Policy.

Cons: I have had to RMA this memory module twice. Both the original module and the replacement module worked for about 3 months and then died.

Other Thoughts: The memory modules were being used in a Windows Home Server that I use to backup my family's computers.

2 out of 5 eggsI like crucial but this ram sucks!

Pros: They have a heat shield

Cons: I built my PC almost 3 years ago and got 8gb's of this ram [4x2gb]. All was fine until 6 months or so in. 2 out of 4 sticks crapped out. [memtest86 proves it]. Newegg was great and replaced. now it seems I get 1 or 2 dead memory sticks every 6 months or so. I dont even know how many i have been through. Well I had another stick die last night and i stopped RMAing these things after the last round of RAM death. That leaves me with one stick left.
Crucial is great for standard ram and server ram, but stay away from this stuff...its priced cheap for a reason.

Other Thoughts: Crucial is a grate company, but this is just shotty ram. stay away from the ballistix line [ at least the ddr2]. Also, before you buy RAM for your mobo, go to the manufacturers site and check the qualified vendor list for the ram you want.

2 out of 5 eggsdied, but crucial was cool, might be a new batch by now?

Pros: they are not all bad... I had one that had been running for a couple of years, then decided to buy a second stick...

Cons: i read the bad reviews and ignored them, the one i got here only lasted a few months.

Other Thoughts: i called crucial, they replaced both and i had them in less than 18 hours.
have a bootable copy of memtest - so if your system starts acting funny you can boot to it and test. if you get errors, then it's pretty easy to explain you tested the memory with memtest86. i'm sure newegg would be cool about returns too, but a coworker ordered it and i don't have his login.

1 out of 5 eggs6 months of life

Pros: looks good

Cons: 4 2gig Memory Modules. One died after 6 months, the rest died after 8 months. Tried rma at web site but the labels on ballistix i bought from newegg not shown. 800 number is closed day before xmas. 20 years of building my own PC this is the first time I had a memory module die. I never overclocked any part of this PC. I wanted a good stable win7 machine.

1 out of 5 eggsBad bit - Twice!

Pros: Worked great! Low latency, functioned as expected...

Cons: One bit went bad within the year. I had this RAM on two computers and BOTH computers had a bad bit by the end of the year. Neither computer is over-clocked.

Other Thoughts: This doesn't seem like a coincidence. I would buy different RAM or at the very least keep this in mind if you buy this RAM and start having issues. I was having various problems and eventually checked the RAM for errors. It was a huge waste of time. Beware :)

1 out of 5 eggsTwice

Pros: It's fast and was pretty cheap when I bought it.

Cons: It worked well for several months, then croaked (BSODs and random app crashes), so I RMA'd it. The replacement stick just flaked out, too, but in less time than the first. Don't buy these!
