Good Choice for Dell 1950 Blades
Reviewed By: Mike on 7/29/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Bought 24 sets of these for 6 blades to take each one up to 32GB for ESX hosts. No failures on a single chip from each of the 24 pairs. Very impressive. Put them in and booted up with no problems.
Cons: They do run hot, make sure you have proper cooling and airflow for your blade chassis.
Other Thoughts: Virtualization is king right now. Whether you are going with VMware or Microsoft it is well worth it. We are averaging 6 guests per host with no significant degradation in performance. This includes 70 user SQL 2005 servers and 400 user Exchange 2007 servers.

Good Price, Good for Mac Pro
Reviewed By: Nate on 7/22/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Bought this for a 2008 Mac Pro. Runs very solid, no errors, gives me plenty of memory for VM's and whatnot.
Cons: Like everyone else is saying, runs hot, VERY hot. It kind of scared me at first, but so far it has been rock solid and I've had no problems. Seeing that everyone else says it runs hot makes me feel a bit more comfortable.
Other Thoughts: I'm going to buy even more, bump my system up to 32GB. But what the hecks up with the price newegg, it's been up and down more then that stock market!
