5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mac Memory

This review is from: Crucial 4GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model CT51264AC667

Pros: > I've been using it for almost 2 years now and it's still working great in my iMac.
> Shipped fast.

Cons: > Would have liked it to be priced a bit cheaper.

Other Thoughts: I've had no problems with the RAM since installed and would recommend it to anyone interested in upping the amount of RAM in your old iMac or laptop.

This review is from: Crucial 4GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model CT51264AC667

Pros: Easy upgrade to get MacBook to 6GB beyond tech spec of 4GB. All 6GB get used with a 1x2GB and 1x4GB.
Delivery to Prairies within a week.

Cons: Price is up there for memory, but a relatively inexpensive computer upgrade overall.

4 out of 5 eggsBumped my Macbook up to 6GB

This review is from: Crucial 4GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model CT51264AC667

Pros: Had 2 2GB sticks in the Macbook (4.1) bought in '08. Pulled one of the sticks and replaced it with this. Now up and running at 2GB. Nice to run iMovie and parallels virtual winXP at the same time. Ran memtestX and it passed with flying colors.

Cons: Cost

5 out of 5 eggsNice

This review is from: Crucial 4GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model CT51264AC667

Pros: Replaced one of my 2GB modules in a MacBook pro (2.6GHz) to reach 6GB. I was not sure it would work as Apple says these computers are supposed to support 4GB RAM, but it appears to work so far!

Cons: Opening the package is a project in itself! The price is somewhat steep also!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

This review is from: Crucial 4GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model CT51264AC667

Pros: Worked right when I put it in.

Cons: Price... But it's really a great deal.

Other Thoughts: I stuck it right in my Asus G2-A4 and installed Windows XP 64 bit and then expanded my virtual memory and it works fine. Going from 2 gb of ram on vista to 5 gb of ram on XP is like night and day.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly w/Lenovo T61p

This review is from: Crucial 4GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model CT51264AC667

Pros: I purchased two 4GB modules and installed them into my Lenovo T61p (C2D T7500 cpu) running Fedora 11 x86_64.. Booted up w/o any problems.
Now I can run multiple virtual machines simultaneously!

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: For whatever reason, buying two separate 4GB modules is currently cheaper than buying a single set of 2 x 4GB.

5 out of 5 eggsThinkpad T61p - Works like a charm.

This review is from: Crucial 4GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model CT51264AC667

Pros: Bought two chips, RAM works like a charm out of the box on this laptop under Windows XP Professional 64-bit Edition, one of (if not THE) best values for this sort of upgrade if you do heavy Virtualization work or other memory-intensive tasks.

Also helps gaming with non-SSD drives, as the hard drive can spin down entirely once the game loads as all but the most massive games will fit entirely in RAM with a pair of these to give you 8GB total.

Cons: *USELESS*WITHOUT*64-BIT*OPERATING*SYSTEM*

Some 2GB memory available on the market in this form factor/standard has 4-4-4-12 timing, these are 5-5-5-15, so overall memory bandwidth can end being WORSE if you previously upgraded to fast-timing 2GB RAM. Stock T61p RAM is 5-5-5-15 though, so this has no downsides as an upgrade from stock IBM/Lenovo RAM.
