Crucial 240-pin DIMMs are used in DDR3 memory for desktop computers. DDR3 is the latest generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data more quickly.

A dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a DIMM are not connected to each other.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Crucial makes excellent memory and I'm sure these are up to their standards.

Cons: Crucial site shows this kit to be compatible with an ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard. Installed and my machine would not boot. Checked with Crucial and was advised that these memory modules are "high density" and the P6T board uses "low density" modules.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks so far

Pros: Chose to use these on a budget build. No problems for me so far.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: For some reason, Windows 7 detects 6 GBs of ram, but 3 are usable.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: works great, no problems... that i couldn't fix anyway.

Cons: none yet!

Other Thoughts: Motherboard detected memory incorrectly. detected at 1066Mhz rather than 1333. Some other issues as well but totally unrelated.
you should buy this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram

Pros: Can't beat this ram for the price. Got this kit for an i7 930 folding rig and it works perfectly. What was most suprising was how overclockable they are: spec'd at 1333mhz cas 9... but with 1.65v i'm currently running them at 1523mhz 8-8-8-19-60-1T, LinX and Memtest stable.

Cons: No heatsinks, but its budget ram, so its hardley a con.

Other Thoughts: Ram is used in this Folding rig:

i7 930 @ 4ghz HT on
Foxconn Bloodrage
Crucial 3x1gb @ 1523mhz 8-8-8-1T
MSI gts250 "twinfrozr" @ 756/1944/1102
Corsair VX550w
Corsair H50 with 240mm radiator mod

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done!

Pros: Nothing special in the DDR3 category but if you're building a basic computer that uses DDR3 this was the cheapest when I bought it. It's not specially made for games and you get NO heatsinks with them. Even the "basic of the category" this stuff is still great.

Cons: I paid $40.99 4/8/2009 for this. WHY is RAM going up so much??

Other Thoughts: Everyone seems to be listing their systems these days so here it goes:
RAIDMAX Scorpio case | Corsair 650w | Asus p6T mobo | Intel i7 920 (Quade-core @ 2.66GHz) | ZEROtherm core 92 heatsink w/fan | G.Skill DDR3 1600 3x1GB Gaming Memory (upgrading soon) | 2x Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB 7200RPM 32mb Cache Hard drives | Asus 22x DVD burner | 2x EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 1GB DDR3 Video Cards running in SLI | all in one memory card reader | Hanns-G 25" Widescreen LCD | Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

5 out of 5 eggsGood Budget RAM

Pros: - Good RAM speeds
- Timings are pretty decent, especially for the price
- No errors were found during an 8 hour memtest86+ test
- Doesn't seem to run too hot
- Voltages steady

Cons: I bought this knowing it's not the best RAM, but...

- Doesn't have a heatsink, so overclocking potential is somewhat limited
- Timings aren't the best

Other Thoughts: This RAM is great if you don't want to spend a lot of money on the best DDR3 RAM right now. Once the prices drop some more, I'll swap these out for some better RAM, but for now (now being the next 6 months or so), this RAM is a great purchase for the money.

Comp Specs: Core i7 920, GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked, Gigabyte X58-UD3R Mobo, 3 GB DDR3 RAM, 640GB + 750GB WD HDDs, Corsair 650TX PSU, Antec 300, S-Flex Scythe fans

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: I have these running on my xfx 790i sli and they are freaking fast and stable!

Cons: non

Other Thoughts: I'm using just two (2GB) for now and I got em overclocked at 1600-8-8-8-20-28-2T for over 8GB read and write speeds. Stock voltages.
